Hes been charged with abuse before. Police say Robert Wilson beat 9yearold jack garcia unconscious inside a hagerstown apartment after accusing him of stealing a piece of cake. Reporter well, eun, you see behind me here that investigators are still here in the parking lot area of this apartment complex here on cindy lane. We have an investigator back there with a flash light. Hes been Walking Around in the parking lot. Hes focusing on a number of different cars here that are parked right along that tree line there. There is a vehicle that has its trunk open and door open. You can see all of the evidence markers that are here on the pavement as well as in the grassy area there next to that gray car. Heres what we can tell you. A little after 1 00 this morning, thats when shots rang out here on the 5 block of cindy lane in Capitol Heights and two people were shot. Were told that they were Security Guards. One of those Security Guards was killed. Not a lot of information beyond that however. No lookout for suspects and we do have a number of road closures in the area. Theyre focusing their attention here on this parking lot here. This apartment complex. But we do have a road closure on 214 which is down a little ways at the light. Were not exactly sure why 214 is closed, but it is at this point, closed in both directions, between addison and pepper mill. Were not sure if there was a secondary crime scene or not. This comes after yesterdays deadly shooting at two military facilities in tennessee. Federal authorities are increasing security in some cities just in case. Now, the fbi has considered this a act of domestic terrorism. Several Officials Say there are indications this may have been inspired from overseas through social media and the internet. Because of that security has been stepped up at some federal buildings and military facilities across the country. Just last week, the fbi director told congress this is a pro isis group thats tweeting out of syria, calling for attacks on anyone in uniform. Security will remain in place throughout the weekend at least. Federal authorities are especially worried about today and thats because today is the last day of ramadan and those isis or pro isis tweeters have been talking about a month of destruction during ramadan, and theyre concerned because this is the last day of ramadan. On capitol hill Edward Lawrence. Thank you. We the jury find the defendant, james eeghen holmes guilty of murder in the first degree after deliberations. The trial of the colorado Movie Theater shooter now enters a new phase. Whether james holmes should be sentenced to death for his crime. He was found guilty of killing 12 people and wounding dozens of others. Jurors rejected the idea that holmes was legally insane when he opened fire in the Movie Theater. The jury deliberated for a day and half before returning guilty verdicts on 165 counts. Among those in the courtroom yesterday were survivors of the attack. I looked at him when the verdict came out because i wanted to know, what is his response, and theres just nothing. Which i mean, thats how i feel towards him is nothing. Hes hes nothing in my life and i dont want to give him any energy. Experts say the sentencing phase could prove even more emotionally wrenching as survivors describe the impact of the shooting on their daily lives. If one juror disagrees with a death sentence, holmes will be sent to life in prison. Corrections officials investigating the death of an inmate in cumberland, maryland, prison as a possible homicide. The officials are waiting for an autopsy, but didnt find any signs of trauma. Investigators are questioning the cell mates and other inmates as well. First thing monday morning the u. N. Security council will vote on whether or not to endorse this weeks Nuclear Agreement with iran. Council members have been briefed by both iran and the countries that signed the deal. Army families filed formal complaints about the agency that handles their child care. Its called the Army Fee Assistance programs. The Program Provides money to help those parents use private and pricier daycare centers. The iteam found those government subsidies are often sent late. The iteam found a backlog of 11,000 unreturned phone calls and requests from Army Families to the government. Administrators tell us theyre adding staff and working to fix those problems. A Montgomery County judge has let a man accused of first degree murder out of jail. Deion sobotker is charged with murder. The judge baird decided to release him on the 500,000 unsecuritied bond yesterday and that means he didnt have to pay to get out. Judge baird says he doesnt believe the bail system is fair. Prosecutors say theyre frustrated with the judges decision. Because of the serious nature of the charge and Public Safety concerns that we have with anyone chargeled with those kind of charges it is something we want to look at. The president of a popular chain of restaurants in maryland will go to jail after pleading guilty to a peeping tom case. Kyle muehlhauser was convicted of recording several women in the bathroom. The judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail. Muehlhauser was arrested in february a few months after a woman found a small camera in a bathroom stall. Activists in annapolis want to put an end to political practices known as gerrymandering. Its where legislators manipulate voting boundaries in favor of one party.
