A shooting involving philadelphia police. Im tamrah here with jeanette reyes. It began at 9 00 with the robbery of a deli at the 5200 block of the could be creek section. And they spotted a vehicle that matched the trips of the one driven bit suspect. And they gave chase and when the officer approached. The police say he made threatening motions. He motioned to his waist band and the officer struck him one in the check. Investigators say that the vehicle he was driving may have been stolen. And now on to our other big story of the day. That is the weather cold windchills are hanging around and actually we have this breaking news coming to you right now. From the german town section firefighters are on the scene of a house fire on this part of the city. The fire started at 11 00 as the chopper zooms in firefighters are on the roof. And smoke is billowing out of that hole in the center of the structure and the windows are burned out and its not clear what sparked the blaze and from the second level it seems to have been decide and damage down on the first level. And well keep an eye on this. And going back to our story about the incredibly cold weather, very cold windchills are hanging around. Maybe the coal in our stocking from santa. They are coursing through the region in the teens, and giving a windchill of 22 degrees in philadelphia and 14 in allentown and 16 in trenton and 15 in reading. And 22 in millville and 20 on the nose in wilmington. Everybody really needs to bundle up in layers as you head out. As we go through the rest of data stays on the cold side this model has us sitting on 32 and i think there is a chance we rise up to 34 degrees before we begin to fall. And we start to fall down to 28 by 8 00 and the mid20s by 2 00 a. M. Low 20s for the overnight lows tonight in philadelphia. And probably in the teens otherwise. As we take a look at the next 24 hours, it stays cold. Tomorrow at noon up to 27 and that is below what we are experiencing today. I expect a 4 degree drop in our High Temperature tomorrow. This little gusher is causing bigger problems in northeast philadelphia. The water main break happened at the 3100 block of willets road where it meets holmes avenue. Water coming out quick and you pile on the very cold weather we are having making things tough for crews here. Behind me the Recovery Process underway, they have that backhoe out there. Trying to fix this water main break, and caused about a 6 to 7 foot deep hole in the ground and the main focus is to get the pipe sealed up and the water back on. Its safe to say right now things are quite a mess. The water main break in philadelphia opened the ground at a Business Plaza and spilled water into the shops ear. Water all over the place and the water started to freeze on the street and causing a Quick Response with salt trucks and happened in the 3100 block of willets road and the owner says he was insized the Islamic Center when it happened. It was broken underground and when we see that well see what repairs we have to make f the water main. First crews have to get the water out to make the assessment, and neighbors should be okay. Police say it began at 9 00 this morning when a deli was robbed on the 5200 block of irving street and officers spotted an suv that matched the trips of the vehicle involved in the robbery on that same block. Plain clothes officers tried to stop the man and the vehicle crashed and they approached the driver and the man did not comply and made a motion toward his waist band. That is when the officer fired one shot at the man hitting him in the chest. He is hospitalized in Critical Condition and the investigation into the incident continues at this hour.
