With breaking news out of westchester. Right now crews are still dousing hot spots after the massive fire at the barclay Senior Living facility. At least 20 people were injured when the flames broke out at midnight and 12 hours later the conditions are still unsafe for ocs to get inside and look for possible victims. Bob brooks is live with the latest. Reporter ill tell you what i got off the phone with da, tom hogan a team of atf members will come up to begin the search to see if there are any victims. But right now they cant go on today because its unsafe. And they cant start until lat least tomorrow. Crews are still battling hot spots, a firefighter is up there on the ladder spraying down into the Senior Living center here. We have a better angle from chopper 6 hd, i want to bring that up now. Look at your screen from theaer the magnitude of the damage here. They areaying down in and begin aht when is the flames were shooting up from out of the Senior Living center that too from chopper 6 hd that too was massive. Hoses were dousing it was as much they they could and a massive rescue mission. It was raging. Neighbor says that the fire crews never flinched despite the size of the flames the building on fire was the barclay living facility. And he and owners decided to help. I went in and me and myself and other people we were going to the facility and getting people out. When asked if anyone was killed. This was the response. I cannot comment on any stats or anything like that at this time. The fire was reported just before 11 00 last night. And neighbors say its amazing that more residents inside were not hurt. The fire spread so fast and there were seniors in there that needs help out. I can see it engulfed in flames. Pretty dramatic video and another view from chopper 6 you see down into the Living Center the roof is gone. You can see crew theres and firefighters starting to come down now, i have been here for a good part of the morning, and they are battling these hot spots throughout the morning and because there is so much wind and its hot and the smoke is coming up and out of there and from our angle we are actually in somebodys backyard they let us come back here to film this. A massive fivealarm fire in westchester. Flames poured out of the Senior Living complex overnight into the Early Morning hours. At least 20 people were hurt and dozens were evacuated. Most of the building is destroyed and the fire burned through several floors of the complex and firefighters continue to put out hot spots and no word on fatalities because crews cannot go into the damage and devastation to search for possible victims. The fire was declared under control at 1 30 this morning and still awaiting for an update on the injured. Many evacuated were taken to nearby shelters. That is where we find vernon odom. The shelter there on the campus of Westchester University is now closed but it was full and busy overnight. Reporter university was prepared for this time of thing and they did a great job. Some of their on the ground security people went to the fire scene to help out some of the evacuees as well. And its closed down now
