We still have westbound construction on the schuylkill between the blue route and 202 so watch for that westbound construction and sixers play tonight at 7 oclock in 76. The construction here has cleared. Both lanes opened. Looking good right here. Heading towards newtown no problems there. But a downed pole is blocking two lanes on the white horse pike route 30. Well, one World Trade Center is lit red white and blue after that terror attack in new york city. A man driving a rental truck plowed down people on a bike path not far from that location yesterday afternoon. New york city mayor bill deblasio called it a cowardly act of a terror. Eight people were killed including five people who were visiting from argentina. The rampage ended with the attacker brandishing air guns and yelling god is great in arabic. A Uniformed Police officer was credited with stopping the carnage. Police say the killer left a note saying he carried out of the the attack on behalf of isis. Now, sources identified the suspect in custody as Sayfullo Saipov. The 29yearold came to the United States in 2010 from uzbekistan living for awhile in florida but when he was pulled over by Pennsylvania Police in both 2012 and 2015 he gave authorities a new jersey address. Stephanie ramos filed this report from new york city. Reporter the terror began around three 00 in the afternoon on halloween in lower manhattan. Police say 29yearold Sayfullo Saipov an uzbekistan immigrant who had been living in patterson, new jersey, deliberately drove a rented home depot truck onto a bike and pedestrian path targeting people and running them over. We know that this action was intended to break our spirit. Reporter the crime scene stretching for several blocks. We got multiple casualties. Its a mass casualty situation here. Reporter his truck eventually collided with a school bus injuring the twod a difficulties adults and kids on board. Had two guns on him and he was just running in the street. Reporter the fbi and nypd are urging the public to share any videos or immatches could help. Like this cell phone video showing the driver limping after getting out of his Truck Holding what turned out to be two fake guns. Witnesses said he shouted allah allahu akbar. The nypd has been preparing for the possibility of vehicle attacks following similar incidents in france, london and berlin. And last night, security was stepped up even more. Youll see them in the airports, youll see them in the tunnels. Its not because of any evidence of any ongoing threat or any additional threat. It is just out of vigilance and out of out of caution. Witnesses recorded as he ran through the streets. The driver, he didnt look like he was bleeding or anything per se but he did have a noticeable limp. He was screaming in the streets. Reporter others documented bodies lying on the bike path Good Samaritans nearby trying to help. Singer josh groban posted this video to his twitter account as Emergency Responders rushed toward the impact between the school bus and the truck. Later medics helping victims. On instagram a viewer posted this a closeup of the suspect after he was shot in the stomach and apprehended by police, his hands now cuffed behind this back. He was shot in the arm and the chest. Police officers rushed him to the hospital in stable condition. Investigators say two suspects fled the scene in a minivan. A car hit a child who was trickortreating in cape may county, new jersey. It happened at 5 30 yesterday evening along cole avenue near bell croft avenue in ocean view. A witness says the little boy had just left his home with family members. Authorities have not yet revealed the extent of his injuries. The driver remained at the scene to speak with police. A driver hit a pedestrian in warminster bucks county and drove off. Police say they found the male victim on street road near newtown road at 7 40 last night. He was taken to abington memorial hospital. Authorities have not released his condition. Police are still looking for the striking car this morning. They say it is a dark colored hyundai missing a mirror on the drivers side and may have a smashed windshield. Starting today the legal smoking age in new jersey is now 21. Governor Chris Christie signed the measure into law in july raising the age from 19. The restriction applies to Tobacco Products and electronic smoking devices.
