Debrisfilled water rushing through this town outside phoenix. About two feet of water. Reporter quickly receding, but leaving behind a muddy mess. Fortunately, no injuries there. But flooding claiming three lives overnight near cincinnati, ohio. This is whats left of one familys mobile home, destroyed. A pregnant mother and two children, killed in raging floodwaters. Her brother trying to cope. She loved her kids to death. She was a good mother. Reporter four to five inches of rain falling in just a couple of hours, sending the creek near their home surging, taking everything with it. Her fiance and two other children, one clinging to a tree, miraculously survived. And lightning lighting up the midwest skies and proving fatal in colorado. A 31yearold woman struck and killed while hiking near salida. And another person hit while working in his yard in golden wednesday. He had no pulse. He was not breathing. Reporter she claims the previous owners, glenn jasen and his wife kathryn sold them the home knowing full well there was a sinkhole beneath. The jasens were arrested this week. According to court documents, prosecutors allege the jasens did detect a sinkhole and made a claim with their insurance. They then elected to receive a check in the amount of 153,000 but did not ever fix the sinkhole. Last year, the jasens allegedly sold the home to magbee and her family without disclosing the existence of the sinkhole or the previous sinkhole claim. Victor martinez argues his clients being singled out. And should not be facing up to 20 years in federal prison. When they filed the sinkhole claim, they did take some money to make remedial repairs.
