Construction has started on a $300,000 Sippy Downs park renovation which could lay the foundation for a further $1 million worth of upgrades for the area.
Sunshine Coast Council division six councillor Christian Dickson said the first stage of the Albany Lakes Park upgrade, which included a children's playground, was expected to be completed in June.
Other major additions to the 650 sqm site included park furniture, a connection pathway providing greater access to amenities, a playground safety fence to stop children running onto the nearby road, a drainage system and garden beds.
