This is one of many angry viewers flagging the iteam will recent sightings in the city. This is disturbing. She shot cell phone video of this Woman Working the 3 train with a baby. The iteam saw her doing a different thing on the same day. We saw her on the subway station floor when her baby was much smaller. The nypd tells the iteam theyve recently responded to calls of concern to 911. But their officers hand are tied because, they say, theres nothing illegal about what the women are doing. But what about the children . City hall says police have been retrained with the help of acxon signs of neglect to look for. I tried to speak with this woman who we spotted last fall and seen many times again since. This year, she has a brand new baby. Is it appropriate for the baby to be on the street all the time . Last week she smacked our iteam producer before hopping a subway without paying the fare and throwing in in token this week on a scorching 95degree afternoon, she and the baby girl stuck it out until 6 00 p. M. Heading to meet another familiar panhandling pair at grand central. So has anything changed . City hall declined to give the iteam an on camera interview and issuing a statement from the mayor saying i have said before and will say again, no parent, no adult should use children as pawns in panhandling risking their safety and wellbeing on the street and in hazardous weather conditions such as the heat wave were experiencing now. We have services and shelters to help people who need resources and we are actively approaching individuals panhandling with children. In november, Police Commissioner bratton said begging with babies should be stopped. Might be a matter of seeking new laws. If there needs to be new laws changed, there needs to be a conversation. He houses the general welfare committee, says the solution efforts to use children in this way. We want to make sure whatever were looking at legislatively is not used to unfairly target families that are otherwise law abiding but who have fallen on hard times. Melissa russo for today in new york. Now, melissa points out that we have a First Amendment right to express ourselves in public areas. According to legal experts, that does include panhandling, with or without a child. Why not get out for the weekend. We have so much luck. In the tristate area, beautiful talent in new england. Get out to enjoy shopping, food, just outdoor activities. What some people dont know, theres amazing theater festivals that happen in the summertime. People love the hamptons, we have sag harbor. Some people dont know that sag harbor is home to bay street theater. Theyre doing a musical this summer. It was a documentary and became yeah. The residents of the eccentric cousins of jackie onassis. This is one of them behind us. Big edie. Thats a little bit of a secret. Broadway legend and tv star betty buckley. Sure. Actually, this is betty buckley. Thank you to betty buckley. She gave us the right to share this little treat. Its a sneak peek of rehearsals from her. I can hear her saying, edie, loves my corn. We also have another place to go. Also folks near philadelphia sometimes go, bucks county, new hope. Great place for theater. The same distance from the city as the hamptons are. New hope, pennsylvania, sister town, lambertville, new jersey. This is an amazing place for anybody who loves antiques. You can stroll the town and for a whole day find trinkets. Its home to the buck county playhouse. Theyre doing the Putnam County spelling bee. Its a huge hit on broadway. Started ten years ago. Its a fun town. About characters in a spelling bee. They pull people from the audience. Its a fun blast of a show. It starts august 14th. Thats a good one to go with families. Its a fun Little Family show. We have up north a little bit, the Williams Town this is something i like to do. Ill do next weekend. You can find towns along the way. Hudson, new york, lenox, massachusetts, stock bridge and then you get to a hamlet of a town, williamstown, that pun was completely intended. A huge mega musical. Its amazing. This tiny little berkshires town and shows that make their way to broadway. Ive seen elephant man starring bradley cooper, the visit. Opening next weekend, the moon for the miss begotten starring Audra Mcdonald and her husband, tony nominee. Theres a lot to do there as well. Going up north as well. Exactly. In terms of shakespeare as well. Sure. Shakespearian companies in lenox, massachusetts. Theyve got they do the classics. What i think is really interesting this summer, theyre doing a show called red develop rhett about the first africanamerican man who played the role of a fellow. You think of a fellow as a role made by an africanamerican man. Actually, this was the first done in the 1880s. Its an interesting story how that evolved and how the guts that it took to play that role on stage by a black man. A lot of the summer theater, these are a lot of people talk about that more. Who begin doing what might have been called summer stock years ago. This leads to journeys that do take them to new york and broadway. Its terrific to see it in a small little stage on broadway, before broadway, of course. Things like elephant man. I saw that up there, like i talked about williamstown, thats a Little Theater that houses i think probably 100 people. Then you want to see it on broadway. The ticket prices go way up, right . That theater houses about 2,000 people. Why not see these stars so much closer. Also, these shows its really for the artistic value, not the commercial value. Not just adaptations of movies and flashy musicals but shows with super quality. I have to tell you, we have so much more information on partner in the aisle. Some people may be curious about this. Vanessa antonelli shows us how she designed the play room for a pop superstars daughter. Designer courtney cachet creates a mom kid friendly designs that prove you dont have to sacrifice style when you expand your family. Keith baltimore my clients had a childlike enthusiasm in approaching the master bedroom, and i fed off of that completely. [music playing] welcome to open house nyc. Right now im coming to you from an exquisite home on fifth avenue. This impressive and totally renovated home is beautifully finished in high european style. The apartment is flooded with light thanks to these oversized windows. But my favorite part, behind practically every wall is a closet, a mind blowing 67 in total. Not only is that a rarity in new york but its every womans dream. I mean, it also features five bedrooms, eight baths, and more than 5,000 square feet of living space. Lets begin our exploration with keith baltimore. Keith is known for is sophisticated and energetic use of color, which was just what his clients wanted in their family home. He took what was a typical colonial on a quiet suburban street, and turned it into an inspiring feast for the eyes that begins the very second you enter. Which is just what a family abode should be. Hi, im interior designer, keith baltimore, and welcome to this colorful Family Friendly home that i designed in port washington. Today im going to show you how Family Friendly design does not have to be juvenile. As in every family home, theres the practical part of living here. The bookbags, the coats, the boots. But who are we kidding . No ones entering through the foyer, theyre all entering through the mud room. So this is a perfect spot for everything to get dropped, and its not always neat, but its certainly better if its organized. I chose a bright chartreuse green. Nobody wants to go to school at 7 oclock in the morning, and this is a good way to start your morning as well. Its also a welcoming color to come home to. The dining room is right off the foyer. How i designed this was by adding banquettes around the perimeter of the room, which is basically a square room. And i used cabinetry on the other portion of the squares, where i put a Television Set in and four tables that could be broken apart for a multitude of different tasks. Dining rooms are the most unused rooms in homes. Why not put a Television Set in there where kids could do homework, or they could watch tv, and the space becomes used in a way its never been used before. Where im sitting now is the family room, and this room is very bright. We have a brightly colored sofa, with horizontal stripes on the window treatments, and a turquoise wallpaper, but yet it doesnt feel too bright. Its really cozy in here. Its using color in a comfy kind of way. The wall color is a deep turquoise with a striae of a horizontal line, almost water like
