The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says harsh road conditions are to blame for a single-vehicle accident on White Pole Road last Thursday evening. Their initial investigation shows 51-year-old Kristina Lois Sherman of Adair was traveling eastbound in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she lost control of the SUV at approximately 7:16 p.m. and entered the south ditch. Authorities say the vehicle rolled once, coming to rest on its top. Blowing snow resulted in nearly zero-visibility conditions at times, and the road at the scene of the accident was extremely slick. Neither occupant in the vehicle reported any injuries and refused medical treatment. Damage to the Jeep was estimated at approximately $10,000. Sherman was cited for driving while license suspended.
