As more people brave the outdoors amid the pandemic, accidents and open water drownings are on the rise in Texas. With the risk of catching COVID-19 outdoors significantly less than being inside, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more Texans are simply spending time in nature — and on the water.
