Website adds data on how prosecutors handle Jacksonville-area cases

Jacksonville’s State Attorney’s Office has launched a data dashboard it previously said would help track prosecutors’ efforts to seek justice in their work.
The dashboard, at sao4thdatadashboard.com, analyzes the agency’s work through dozens of metrics, from the number of gun crimes prosecutors handle to whether Black and Hispanic defendants get sentences similar to whites.
“We care about all of our residents and want to ensure that those who interact with the criminal justice system the most — victims as well as defendants — are not treated differently because of their race or income,” Nelson says in a video embedded on the website.
