While millions of people will be watching Sunday’s Super Bowl just for the fun of it, there are plenty of folks who'll have a lot riding on whether the Kansas City Chiefs or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win. That’s because a lot of people will have money on the game.
According to the American Gaming Association:
Approximately $4.3 billion will be bet on Sunday’s Super Bowl, with about 23.2 million people placing bets.
Of those bets, almost 1.4 million will be made in person at a sportsbook, which is a 60% decrease from last year.
Online seems to be the way to go this year, with a record 7.5 million betting through online or mobile platforms, up 63% from last year.
