Reporter a total of nine people were shot on stanley avenue by crescent street. Police have been out here all morning. We have seen them talking to witnesses and they are going door to door to get more information on who fired the gunshots. This is what we know. Police say a fight broke out in a backyard at 2 00 this morning. Thats when a group of men opened fire during a house party. Nine people were shot. The victims are men and women, ages 19 to 38. Bullets hit them in the arms, leg and neck. Injuries are not life threatening. All of them are getting treated at jamaica, brookdale and kings county hospital. We talked to a man who was nearby when it happened. Here is how he described his morning. Morning. I was at work. I heard gunshots about 1 45, a about three shots. After that, Police Helicopters were circling around the neighborhood. Reporter a scary situation for the people who live and work around here. Police describe this party as total chaos. Debris was flying everywhere. Four others were hurt, too. They had cuts, bruises and scrapes across their bodies. At this point, no arrests have been made. They are looking for multiple suspects. Police say 33yearold officer shawn bolton was conducted a traffic stop when he was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. This is just a reminder of how dangerous this job is, you know, talking about a routine traffic stop and that results in an officer losing his life. Bolton is the third memphis officer to be shot since july of 2011. New this morning, nearly 40,000 verizon workers will stay on the job without a new contract. The Union Representing workers from massachusetts to virginia threatened to strike if they didnt reach an agreement over benefits by midnight. Negotiations will continue. The unions want to keep verizon from cutting jobs, eliminating the 401 k benefit match but the carrier says the proposal are out of touch with todays job market. One man was rescued but another drown in rip currents off long island. Lifeguards and emergency crews pulled a man from the waters of long beach and gave him oxygen. Another victim, a 23yearold brooklyn man was pulled from the water but police say he was submerged for about an hour. They have not yet released his name. Investigators say swimmers were told to get out of the water as the life guard shifts ended but the two men had gone back in. The number of legionnaires cases in the south bronx has climbed. 65 people are infected with the disease up from 57 on friday. The death toll has risen from three to four. Five buildings have been infected. Cbs 2s dave carlin tells us how investigators are trying to stop the outbreak. Bronx residents worried and they want answers after new cases and new locations including this verizon office building. Scary. I have a little one that i have to worry about and take precaution. I didnt know it was so close to home. The Health Department confirmed a fourth death from legion flares in the south bronx. 65 cases so far in these neighborhoods, highbridge, morrisania, hunts pound, mott haven and concourse. The source has not been found. More than two dozen buildings were checked for legionella bacteria. Test ruts came back positive at the concourse plaza mall, lincoln house, Opera House Hotel and two places were added to the list. This mott haven building that houses a plastic business and this building for verizon. Health department claims all buildings are disinfected. Symptoms include fever, cough, chills and muscle aches. It is not contagious. It is treated with antibiotics. People get sick after breathing in water vapor from infected faucets, showers, whirl pools or cooling towers. People middle age or older are at higher risk, particularly with weaker immune systems. These four individuals who died, their deaths could have been prevented. Bronx borough president ruben diaz junior says the city is not doing enough. To prevent it from happening again, why dont we have regular inspections on cooling systems, water towers throughout the city of new york like we do with elevators. Raging fires in the state burned two dozen homes and are threatening 6,000 more. In new jersey, an elderly driver lost control of his car and smashed into his neighbors house in westwood. The man said he stepped on the gas instead of the brakes on friday and crashed into the house on carle place. The accident left glass and debris all over the house. Two children ages 11 and 12 and their mother were sitting in the path of the van but they got up about 15 minutes before. Last night i was grateful and still grateful because we are okay. Honest. Friz year said the rest of the frasier said the rest of the family was shocked. You look at a person that cared for chrissy from the moment she was at the hospital until the moment she passed away, it pass pat houston. Interesting that she would target pat and have a big problem with pat houston. Her father, bobby brown, did not have a huge problem. Bobbi kristina died a week ago, six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub similar to the way her mother died. She will be buried monday in westfield, new jersey. Autopsy results on how Bobbi Kristina died are not complete. Last week cbs 2 profiled the victim of an Online Ticket selling scam. A hard working father taken for hundreds of dollars. Turns out he may not be the only victim. Cbs 2s Kristin Sloan investigates the craigslist scam. Ticket master has no confirmation of the order number, damian. Reporter our confrontation with a scam artist selling fake tickets to a big wrestling event has the nypd hot on his trail. They are using our video to identify him through facial recognition technology. Cbs has been great and helped out. I appreciate it. Reporter matthew dickson, the father of four scammed by this seller on craigslist. Dickson bought four phony tickets to him to World Wrestling entertainment at bucks. Reporter how do they get their money back with these fake tickets. A day after our story, we walked into the he walked into the precinct to file a report. Another victim was duped, possibly by the same guy. Now with the evidence they can pursue a case. Im glad something will get done hopefully and hopefully they can find him and get him off the streets. Dickson hasnt told his boys they are not going to summer slam but the full time emt that works two other part time jobs to support his kids is getting more great news after our story. An anonymous donor offering to treat his family to a wrestling event that. Would be phenomenal. They would lose their minds. It would be great. Out of something bad something good could happen. These tickets are made so well its hard to tell the difference. If you look closely, these tickets are thicker than real ones. They are difficult to bend at the perforation.
