But so light its not even showing up in this camera this morning. So im tracking some rain, and it will end in some neighborhoods with some very light snow. It all moves out, cold gusty winds will kick in. And that will drop temperatures during the day today. If it doesnt dry up, its going to freeze during the day today. Now, the end is near for allentown, the end of the snow, that is. Its ended in reading this morning, quickly drying out in berks county, and were seeing that dry air work its way into Chester County as well. So if the rain comes in you might see a few snowflakes, but were not looking at accumulation. The temperatures above freezing for most neighborhoods. Its getting cooler now in the suburbs. 38 in philadelphia, tow, and Lehigh Valley is 37 degrees as that wet weather is coming to an end there. This afternoon, though, itll be dry but colder. Cold winds will be blowing so the temperatures will be in the 20s and low 30s, and its going to feel even colder than that. Ill break the forecast hour by hour when im back in ten minutes. First lets see whats new on the roads. Jessica boyington with updates. We have a closure on the southbound side of route 202 right around maine street. Also traffic not getting by on the schuylkill expressway. There was a disabled vehicle we saw on cameras on the westbound side just a second ago, and now they have police activity, so they have all traffic stopped behind it. Again, this is the westbound side right near the vine. And also watching 95, moving through delaware no problems. 12 minutes at the most on the northbound side from 295 to 495. Speeds into the 60s, too. 38 degrees there, minus 8 here. Were live in minnesota just two days away from the super bowl. Yeah, the eagles will wake up here this morning knowing their just one practice away from the big game. They got a light workout schedule. Yesterday the birds practiced indoors in heated comfort similar to what theyll have at u. S. Bank stadium sunday night. Now, green is starting to fill minneapolis as eagles fans flock into town. I could tell because we walked out of the hotel and we saw a giant eagles rv parked in the parking lot. If you are flying in, weve got some advice for you. One, today and tomorrow are probably going to be the biggest days at the airport. Two, you may want to consider using anuber instead of renting a car because there is limited parking at these events. We cannot oversenate how cold it is. And yesterday was absolutely terrible. Let me show you some video from inside the mall of america where were finally starting to see a flood of green. So many eagles fans have made the migration landing in minneapolis. Seeing all of the sights, most of them indoors at least yesterday because it was so cold. But its a good sign were starting to see so many eagles fans arriving in the twin cities. They say its like a dream come true. You know what, when i took off on the plane coming here, i looked out the window and i was like i cant believe it. Its unbelievable. It hit me at that point once we took off. It happened last night. There are no reports of any injuries to passengers aboard the train. Septa bussed the riders to the next stop. The parents of a former penn state student are sharing a personal message today one year after they say their son died during a Fraternity Hazing ritual. There was a disabled vehicle out of the way, but it doesnt look like its out of the way yet. One lane getting by on the westbound side of the schuylkill expressway. Weve been watching a crash for most of the morning that closed both directions and now only the southbound side is closed and now hearing reports its clear. Thats rain in delaware and south jersey, but colder air is working into seeing some spotse the rain is kind of mixing with some light snow, very light snow. And then its already coming to an end now in Delaware County, parts of Chester County and montgomery county, too. So this is not long going to last very long. Fortunately, the temperatures still above freezing. 38 degrees in philadelphia. But look at the plunge. Well dry out first thing this morning, probably within an hours time. 28 degrees, and a steady wind out of the northwest and keeps it below freezing in philadelphia during the day. Drying out in the suburbs. 37 degrees right now, no icing, but it will be dropping below freezing. So if there are any puddles left behind, you can expect those to freezeup. But most of the area will be drying up making that salt unnecessary. Thats by noontime today and staying in the 20s this afternoon. The Lehigh Valley, a few snowflakes there, but doesnt look like it from that view of allentown. Thats a live picture. Youll feel the cold in Lehigh Valley and new jersey, too. Just rain in new jersey, and a chance of a few snowflakes as the cold air comes and brings those temperatures down just as the precipitation is end ing. And then we clear out and going to be a dry, cold windy day in new jersey. Right now 36 degrees and dropping down below freezing. That happens by 10 00 this morning, and the temperatures will feel like theyre in the 20s with those steady winds. And delaware youll be drying out, very quickly as might see a few snowflakes and then that rain takes over. So one thing they do when they hang out here, one of their pastimes we have never done before is ice fishing. So yesterday morning we did it. Not everybody is going to see this snow this morning, but well all feel the dropping temperatures. Theyll be dropping below freezing during the day. So anything that doesnt dry out will be icing up. Most of the area will be dry, and then well be dry until sunday. Ask thats when things will change again. Right now everybody above freezing. Rain is falling in wilmington, philadelphia. Trenton is getting a mix with temperatures above freezing. Shouldnt be an issue on the roadways or walkway. Look at the cold, though, in the poconos mountains. 22 degrees right now. This is the hour by hour temperature and feels like temperature. Well see the actual temperature drop below freezing and hold steady. With those winds its going to feel like its in the teens right on through this afternoon. The wet weather quickly now in allentown. You can see Chester County is drying out, Delaware County and ubto come about to come to end. We will be drying out, and look at that, temperatures will be dropping as we go into the weekend. So colder air will be here. A blustery day as we dry out. 31 degrees the High Temperature tomorrow, and down to 18 degrees saturday morning. And a cold day in the afternoon.
