New overnight, a deadly stabbing forced Temple University to accepted out an alert to students. It happened close enough to campus that Temple Police rushed the man to the hospital where he died. The victim is not a temple student. The victim was walking with a group of others from a bar where a fight had broken out. They havent said if that has anything do with the stabbing. Philadelphia officials warning citizens to be on high alert after a Drexel University student reported that someone sexually assaulted her. The attack happened yesterday morning at the students offcampus apartment in university city. She reported a drunken man entered the apartment through an unlocked door. The special victims unit is investigating. Revenue from philadelphias soda tax may have fallen short. The city says it didnt fall flat. With revenues from the final month of 2017 in the books, the si raked in 6. 5 million. However, the entire year was 13 million short of the projected 92 million goal. The city says there was plenty of good that came from the funds, though. Wynn quit just one day after the wall street journal reported a number of women said he sexually harassed or assaulted them. The report says one case led to an 8 million settlement. Wynn denied the allegations. A special prosecutor will investigate how the former doctor for usa gymnastics managed to sexually assault more than 100 girls for decades while working as an employee of the state. Michigan State University says it asked for the special investigation into dr. Larry nassars wanton behavior and it will cooperate. Michigans attorney general made the announcement yesterday. These are young girls who were robbed of their innocence in the most tender of years. Who at Michigan State knew or was aware of what he was doing, because they had been told by some of the victims. Michigan states president and Athletic Director resigned after 100 women testified at nassars trial. Some members of the usa gymnastics board have also resigned. The rest say their resignations will come over the next week. A stealthy attack in afghanistan killed 103 people and injured more than 235 others. Not terribly busy but it is rainy. These temperatures havent moved, i dont think, all morning. They probably arent going to move. From 4 00 through 8 00 tonight, the rain does stick up against the jersey shore, kent, suffolk county. Look at the winds starting to change. This is when the cooler air moves on in. What were going to track is monday looks fairly dry, just clouds in place. Tuesday morning, light snow is possible north and west neighborhoods. Chuck, despite the president s denial, reporting points to mr. Trump ordering the firing of the special counsel, what does this mean for the mueller investigation. I think a couple things. Number one, theres folks telling us he didnt actually make this order six months ago. They told us this and somebody is saying sources are confirming that he did. You got to ask why ar they conf story now . What is it and they didnt do it then . Does this mean hes thinking about it again . Is this to see how republicans react to this . The last time republican was swift. They said dont do this. This would lead to a political crisis of his own making. This time the reaction has been muted. What does that mean . What does that tell us . There has been a concerted to go after the investigators. To go after the fact finders here. The fbi agents, how the memos were used. All of those things have been used to beat back at this investigation. Has it taken enough of a toll on the investigation and the perception of it that republicans now feel comfortable standing by the president if he does indeed do this . I think these are all the sort of questions raised by this new this new revelation and ill be curious to see what republican reaction is next week when they come back for the state of the union to this news. Do they want to protect mueller or the president . Mean while, chuck, we saw a preview of the immigration proposal. Can this get enough support to actually pass through congress . In the old ways of how washington worked, i would say yes. I would because its a reasonable opening bid by the president. He goes farther out there on a pathway to sit sfwlen shim for d. R. E. A. M. Ers than he has before. In exchange, he wants to make draconian changes to Legal Immigration as far as democrats are concerned. Thats why some are objecting to it there.
