Traveling mass transit, everything looks good except for septas regional rail. Theyre telling people to expect delays because the rails are a little bit slippery. We have breaking news that were following. Fire ripped through a Philadelphia Row home forcing several families on the block out into the cold. The flames started here on east price street in West Oak Lane. The homeowner was not there at the time, but her son was home and able to get out. Nobody was hurt in the fire. You may just be waking up, but shoppers have been out all night getting a heard on their holiday shopping, snagging black friday bargains. This is a live picture from the premium outlets. Theyre doing all of their shopping for themselves and shop for everybody else on christmas eve. I asked them what their strategy is for today. Right now old navy. The stores with open doors, jcpenneys. Well go in and find deals. Maybe a couple of things then well eat. Make a whole day of it. Right. All morning. Then well go home and go to sleep. A philadelphia man is dead after several dogs attacked him on thanksgiving. The attack may not be the cause of death. Heres what we know. Officers found the man on the ground behind a house here at 13th and pike streets in hunting park. Police say four dogs were attacking and biting him. An officer fired his gun once and killed one of the dogs. Paramedics took the man to the hospital. Thats where he died. Police say his bites were morn and that they believe he may have overdosed. A neighbor tells us she saw the victim minutes before the attack. I just fed him. I gave him a plate of food. Its sad, but why are you back in in front of people, in the back of peoples homes . Investigators say the owner of the dogs knew the victim. At this point, there are no charges against the owner. Police in Delaware County have two crimes on their hands. In each case the attacker had the same m. O. According to investigators, two people in haverford township had somebody pull a knife and threaten them on eagle road. This happened within the past week. The suspects stole money and a cell phone from each of the victims. Topping National Headlines this morning, Oscar Pistorius will now spend more than 13 years in prison. This morning, africas court of appeal more than doubled his prison sentence. He was originally sentenced to six years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend. Prosecutors appealed the sentencing saying it was too lineient. Police have made an arrest in the deadly shooting of a texas state trooper that happened on thanksgiving. Trooper damon allen was killed during a traffic stop on interstate 45 in fairfield, about 90 miles south of dallas. Police have arrested the alleged gunman. They arrested him several hours after they say he fled from the scene. The search for a group of missing u. S. Sailors is over in the philippine sea. All three remained lost in the water after a navy plane crash. A search and rescue mission led by the uss Ronald Reagan went on through the thanksgiving holiday. Eight others on board the plane were rescued and should be okay. The names of those still missing have not been released. A Montgomery County public park is closed because Officials Say the soil may be contaminated. Leaders in pottstown put up signs at pollard park. They even posted an advisory on social media warning that the park is closed due to potential Health Hazards in the soil. Theyre testing the soil to see how dangerous it may be. One familys holiday was interrupted by flames shooting out of their roof early this morning. Randy gyllenhaal is on the scene in the West Oak Lane neighborhood. Nbc10 is hearing from neighbors and the woman who lived there. Randy . Reporter this pfeifffire brt minutes after thanksgiving came to a close just after midnight here in West Oak Lane. And the elderly homeowner who lives here says she was actually at a thanksgiving party with relatives nearby. When she came back to her house, she saw this flames coming out of the rooftop of her row home. Shes lived here for some 30 years. She says her son wasid . But made it was inside but made it out okay. This is east price and West Oak Lane. Neighbors were forced to evacuate including a handful of animals. Despite massive damage, a sense of optimism in the face of tragedy. Had my friends over to the house for thanksgiving. Then my son was here. I was getting him a platter. In the meantime, this happened. and here i am, my house burned down. Thank god i did get out. God is able, something good will come out of this, i know it will. Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that happened at a party in kensington. Somebody shot a man twice inside this house on coral street around 1 30 this morning. Police say the shooter had an argument with the victim two days ago then got into another fight with him before the gunfire. The victim is now in the hospital in stable condition. For the fourth year, tastys soul Food Restaurant partnered with others to provide hundreds of free meals and entertainment on 52nd street. This years event honors the memory of robert wilkes. Someone shot and killed him last weekend while driving a van promoting one of his businesses. From the clothing to a lifesized cutout, neighbors sewed that wilkes was not far from their collective hearts yesterday. People asked me, who you think killed rob. I dont know because everybody loved rob. Its hard. Neighbors tell nbc10 that wilkes always gave back to the community. Police are still looking for the person who killed him. Now to news were watching closely out of washington. Former National Security adviser Michael Flynn is cutting dice with president trumps cutting ties with president trumps legal team. Nbc news reports that flynns lawyers have notified the president s lawyers that they can no longer share information. Experts believe this could be a sign that flynn may be preparing to cooperate with special counsel Robert Muellers investigation of his ties to russia. However, one of trumps lawyers insists nobody should draw conclusions. Senator al franken has more to say about the recent allegations of sexual harassment. The minnesota democrat is apologizing for his behavior. He released a statement yesterday that reads in part, i need to be much more careful and sensitive in these situations. I feel terribly that ive made some women feel badly, and for that, i am so sorry. I want to make sure that never happens again.
