He talked about what happened two blocks from campus last tuesday night. The College Student says the teens hit him with a metal pipe. They say they do have a person of interest and are looking for the other young people involved. House republicans celebrated after successfully passing a bill that would cut taxes by 1. 4 trillion. Passing this bill is the single biggest thing we can do to grow the economy, to restore opportunity, and help the middle income families who are struggling. So carson iss foundation donated 120,000 to canine partners for life in Chester County. We have about nine females in the breeding program. They raise, train, and place these dogs with people suffering from physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities. Carson didnt just raise the money. He went and visited and wanted to hear how these dogs have changed peoples lives. I have to be with him 24 7. Like always. Im able to walk with him because otherwise i use a walker or wheelchair. These medical alert dogs can sense migraines, seizures and diabetics shocks. They can open doors, bark for help. To these people, the dogs are the audience of one they need. Some of these people they cant even get a job without that dog. That dog is really what they need to take that next level of independence in their life. I fought to keep back the tears. And i knew that this is going to get me back to school. To go firsthand and meet these people and see them get emotional or what the dog means to them, it really solidified my choice in working with canine partners for life. I love the whole cast and crew. This is my fourth time being in the building. Jimmy yeah. All the other times i was a a musical guest. But its just, you know, hosting is a whole different thing. I got in on monday. And ive just been in new york every day writing with the cast and meeting everybody. Its a crazy feeling. I love it. Jimmy youre the first unsigned artist to ever host the show. Thats the thing that i think youve done that you changed the game. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy you dont have a a label. Yeah. Jimmy you dont have a a label and then yet, you just won grammys, even though you didnt sell any physical copies of a record. I just think its cool. I know its just fun. [ cheers and applause ] it doesnt make sense. Jimmy it doesnt make its fun, right . Yeah. It doesnt make sense but its an awesome thing. Its cool, cause i dont have anything. So they could get pulled. Lorne could pull them last minute. But hopefully, as of now, i got three sketches on the show. Jimmy you were just thinking about this in your head . You go, oh, i have a couple ideas that i could do something . Yeah, well i actually wrote five. I came here with five. I mean i you know, im a a huge fan of the show. And i know that like when they bring in a guest host, they usually come with a few ideas at least, especially if theyre, you know, into comedy. And so i brought a few sketches by. One of them made it. I actually got to give credit to my good friend Donald Glover who helped me with the idea. [ cheers and applause ] hes a great dude as well. Jimmy yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah, no, its a crazy thing to have people enjoy, you know, what i have to bring to the table. Jimmy youre gonna do some inem. Y, i love it. Youve opened for eminem before, but you guys, have you ever hung out . Still have not met eminem. Ive [ light laughter ] jimmy you never met him . I havent. But im a huge, huge fan. And so, thats like one of the main things. I feel like its my birthday week. Im back with you. [ light laughter ] i dont believe any of this stuff is really happening. [ rim shot ] all right, thank you. You gave, i wanna say, i mean, i think it was like a Million Dollars of your own money to chicago to Public School system just to try to help them out. But thats you did that [ cheers and applause ] no one asked you to do it. You just did it, and said im going to do this and that inspired other people to give more. Yeah. We actually have a big announcement. Im not going to say it now, cause that will mess up monday but i do have [ drum roll ] jimmy no, no, not yet. Now he gets the drum roll. Yeah, no, we have been raising a lot of money. We raised about 2. 5 million since february for Chicago Public schools. [ cheers and applause ] and the years not over yet. So we have more announcements coming. I think monday when we get back to chicago. But yeah, its been a great campaign. Its ran by social works, my nonprofit 501 c 3 . And weve been trying to collect funds to try and, you know, one, get better schooling for kids in the inner city and then also just, you know, create a bigger conversation about funding formulas in the u. S. And how we choose to fund certain schools over other schools. Jimmy interesting. Well youre doing [ cheers and applause ] that is tricky. Youre doing a thing too. Youre starting a thing called the twilight awards. Yes. Jimmy and this is exciting to me. cause i mean, you were saying theres so many music award shows. Theres a lot. Jimmy there really is. Almost too many. Too many. Jimmy yeah. One way to think about it. Yeah. But theres nothing of this idea that you have. And what is this idea for the twilight . So the twilight awards will be hosted in chicago in 2 2018, in june of 2018. And it will be the first awards show of ours that is honoring principals, teachers, students and parents that show excellence throughout the school year. And it should be an amazing night. Were hoping to have a lot of special guests there, a lot of special performances and take a a moment to honor the people that do some of the most important work in our country. Jimmy yeah.
