Reporter his uncle sat down with us ahead of todays rally and wants people to know why family and friends and celebrities are fighting his prison sentence. He was 19 years old. Hes going on 30. Reporter in 2007 he was originally charged with 19 crimes and a gun charge remained. Violations extended his probation and one such violation, he told nbc 10 in 2014 he was driving a car with too dark of a tint on his windows but credited the philadelphia judge for giving him a Second Chance. She basically said was going to give me a Second Chance reporter a violation landed him back in court and the judge sent him to jail for two to four years. Calls today for the sentence to be overturned and the rapper freed from jail. Back out here live now, the rally is just beginning. Many say they want to bring public attention to meek mills sentence. His attorney tells me he plans to have the judge recuse himself and well take this back into the courtroom on wednesday asking the sentence to be reconsidered. Mill grew up in north philadelphia and Strawberry Mansion high school. The rapper showed support to fire victims back in 2014 when four children died in a fire in southwest philadelphia. Prosecutors wont say if the video shows Timothy Piazza falling down the steps but shows him being handed drink after drink. Today, piazzas father directly blamed the frat for his sons death. Tim was happy and caring human being who wanted to join an organization to find friendship and come raamaraderi. Instead, he was killed by the people he was seeking a friendship with.
