In we have new information on breaking news were following out of West Philadelphia. Police cruiser and a taxi cab collided there earlier this morning. Matt delucia joins us live from the scene with the details. What can you tell us . Ive been talking with police about what happened. Heres the scene right now. The Police Cruiser and that taxi cab at the intersection of 56 and haverford. Three people are in the hospital including the female officer driving the cruiser. The cabbie an a passenger are also being treated for what im told are minor injuries just complaints of pain im told by police. Good news there. I did ask what was going on at the time of the crash. It was just before 3 00. The officer, police tell me, was responding to a call for a person with a gun. The lights and southeasterns. Reporter apparently on. No impairment has been suspected on the part of anyone in the crash. As we come back out here live the intersection is still blomed off blocked off. The three people charged with kidnapping a korean war veteran and his wife back in april face a judge today. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for vashty williams Damon Cornish and ferguson. They allegedly snatched the retired couple off the street in West Philadelphia. They were thrown into a van, forced to open a debit card account. That car was used to rent several cars. The couple was eventually let go. There are still no arrests in the weekend murder of a mechanic in philadelphias brewerytown neighborhood. A busy stretch of girard avenue was shut down after the shooting at a repair shot. Investigators found a trail of oily footsteps leading to an apartment several blocks away but no one was inside. Always a possibility our shooter did run inside the property and then exit the property before police were aware. The victim had apparently been shot in the chest with a shotgun at close range. Investigators are hoping suree inging surveillance cameras capture the shooter leaving the scene. Philadelphia police want to find whoever has been smashing car windows at a septa station. Its been going on at the wissahickon train station. We spoke with a woman who said she got off the train to find her windows broken along with six other cars. Nothing was ransacked. The glove box wasnt open. I checked the other cars. It didnt look like anything valuable they had was taken. They made no arrests from smash and grab car robberies at the wissahickon train station last month. From our Lehigh Valley bureau osha is investigating dorney park and wild water king democrat.
