This is good right here you can pull a lot of things out of the Passaic River in new jersey. How about an alligator. Jed maxwell tells us how it was found and how it was caught. The alligator captured in the Passaic River today is more than four feet long and weighs almost 30 pounds. This is our first alligator, weve had deer coyote fox, this is our first reptile. Luis acosta spotted the unusually large tail when he was fishing on the banks of the Passaic River this morning. I saw about 15 feet away from me i saw something moving very slowly, i thought it was a snapping turtle. I went real slowly. I said wait a minute its not a snapping turtle. It had a big tail. I said i couldnt believe, i was just staring at it for a while, it was a little alligator or crocodile crocodile, whatever you want to call it. Luis launched police to snare the animal with a metal loop. State wildlife officials and local police and firefighters lost sight of the reptile when it dove down into the murky water. It had to come up for air eventually. They got it. Chopper four followed emergency officials as they put the alligator into a plastic storage bin filled with water. I think it probably was someones pelt that got too big and they didnt know what to do with. Its something we have to Pay Attention to we have a lot of fishermen around here. I dont want them to be in jeopardy if they come across it again. The alligator will likely go to a zoo. One Bucks County Police department has a message for the public.
