KOTA KINABALU: Warisan has filed a suit in the High Court on Wednesday (April 7) against Sebatik assemblyman Hassan Gani Amir, seeking a decision to compel him to vacate the seat as pledged prior to the election.
The writ of summon was delivered to Hassan's residence in Manggatal here by Warisan's lawyers Liaw Kee Siong, just two days after Hassan submitted his membership application to join Sabah Bersatu.
Among other declarations being sought from the courts was a declaration that Hassan breached his oath to remain with Warisan until the end of the term of the current assembly.
In court documents, Warisan claimed that Hassan was picked as a candidate for Warisan, on the condition that he remained loyal to the party.
