The state Health Commissioner is getting involved. He toured a Movie Theater, one of several businesses linked to the outbreak. The death toll has risen to eight and the number of cases shot up to 97. Marcus solis is live with the latest on this one. Marcus . Reporter shirleen and dave, the state Health Commissioner invited by the borough president calls it an all hands they toured the area. Take a look at the cooling tower, one of these identified legionella. Dr. Howard zucker joined reuben diaz as they came to this neighborhood, one of four throughout the bronx that has been affected. This cooling tower is one of five tested positive but it is not definitively linked as the source of the outbreak. The numbers have continued to grow since the first reported cases on july 10th. Eight people died. 89 others sickened. The borough president proposed legislation for city inspection of cooling towers throughout the city. But that would help outbreaks in the future. As for what is happening now, he is asking for help. To not only continue to identify cooling systems and cooling towers in the area but also to do testing in areas outside of the area where we have seen this large cluster of individuals sick and where people have died. Reporter the state says it has been involved working with the city throughout. All those tests are being done at a state lab. But they are working to see if there is anything else that can be done.
