(Seminoles.com) – The 59th all-time meeting between Florida State and Miami Volleyball takes place on Wednesday night at the Knight Complex in Coral Gables, Fla. The rivalry match takes place at 8 p.m. on the ACC Network. FSU has already defeated its other Sunshine State foe in Florida this season, taking down the then-14th ranked Gators, 3-1, on Sept. 15 at home. Freshman middle blocker Khori Louis was recognized on Tuesday by earning ACC Freshman of the Week honors. Last weekend in a home sweep over NC State and UNC, Louis combined to contribute a team-best 29.0 points while averaging 2.29 blocks per set. The Tallahassee native also tied for the team lead in kills with 20. Head Coach Chris Poole now owns a 197-54 record in ACC play. He is soon looking to join an exclusive 200-win club that also includes Clemson’s Jolene Hoover (224 from 1993-14), Duke’s Jolene Nagel (275 from 1999-present) and UNC’s Joe Sagula (345 from 1990-present). Redshirt junior setter Lily Tessier has emerged as one of the top setters in the ACC with her variety of passing, setting, blocking and attacking. In FSU’s three road matches this season at UCF, Notre Dame and Louisville, the Fort Myers, Fla., native is averaging 10.33 assists per set (above her season average). Under Poole since 2008, FSU has won at least three of its first four ACC matches for the 11th time in his 14 seasons in Tallahassee, last doing so in 2019. FSU continues to lead the conference with 16.28 digs per set. It has a talented mix of back-row players that includes freshman libero Emery Dupes (3.89 digs per set), redshirt junior Morgan Chacon (3.00), junior Lauryn Burrows (2.59) and senior Caroline Golden (2.26). Dupes ranks 10th in the ACC with 179 total digs. Combining with Louis last weekend in the middle was junior Emma Clothier, who hit .613 vs. NC State and UNC. Following Wednesday’s match, FSU travels to Duke for a Sunday match at 1 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
