LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day people are learning about Black history in our community.
Viterbo University faculty and staff members hosted guided tours around Downtown La Crosse, visiting a few of the ‘Hear, Here’ locations, which provided recorded stories about racism and Black organization in our community.
One organizer said Monday it was great to see such a big turnout.
“It’s amazing, we have so many people here wanting to learn about the folks of color in our community, making sure we’re centering the important voices, and that we’re learning so we can make sure we’re creating an equitable environment for everyone,” said Megan Pierce, International & Intercultural Student Success Dir., Viterbo University.
