Virginia State University chosen to host upcoming gubernatorial Democratic debate

ETTRICK — Virginia State University has been chosen to host the first televised Democratic debate ahead of the 2021 gubernatorial election. It will take place at the Anderson Turner Auditorium inside Virginia Hall.
All five Democratic candidates for governor will be participating - Lee Carter, Jennifer Carroll Foy, Justin Fairfax, Terry McAuliffe and Jennifer McClellan.
The debate commences on Tuesday, April 6 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will be televised locally on CBS 6, 7 News in Northern Virginia, News 3 in Norfolk and ABC 13 in Lynchburg and Roanoke.
Tomorrow night's debate is the second of the 2021 election cycle. The first took place digitally through Zoom and Facebook Live on March 16. Terry McAuliffe was the only candidate who did not take part in the first debate.
