Ventura County added 715 new COVID-19 cases Friday and counted the highest number of hospitalized patients yet amid the resurgent coronavirus outbreak.
Friday's report followed 731 confirmed infections added Thursday, according to county public health data.
The new cases bring the county's cumulative total to 29,358 since the first coronavirus infection was reported here on March 6. Some 25,837 residents have recovered. Another 3,311 people with active cases remained under quarantine Friday, a significant decrease since Monday, when 7,300 residents were under quarantine.
