Uttarkashi: Cloudburst in Uttarkashi village damages houses, roads; schools closed

Several houses, vehicles, and roads were damaged in a cloudburst incident in Purola village, Uttarakhand. The incident took place late on Friday night and caused heavy debris and stone on the Yamunotri National Highway, leading to blocked roads causing a large number of commuters to be stranded without a way to move. The district magistrate has ordered closure of schools for Saturday following heavy rain and possible landslides.
