US Treasury calls for 'extraordinary measures' as Congress sees no deal on debt ceiling

The US crossed the threshold of its debt ceiling at $31.4 trillion and the Congress was yet to see any deal between the Republicans and Democrats on the issue as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen might stick to her note to the Congress on resorting to extraordinary measures to avoid any impact on the national economy and global financial markets.
