US-Bangladesh Business Council launched in Washington DC

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivers keynote remarks and announces the Council’s inauguration virtually
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in tandem with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC, on Tuesday launched the U.S.-Bangladesh Business Council, which will focus on advocacy and engagement to strengthen the bilateral commercial partnership.
The newly established Council will serve as a platform for business between Bangladesh and the U.S. to engage both countries’ governments and promote business opportunities to drive mutually beneficial economic growth.
The ceremony featured inaugural remarks by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as well as special addresses by ICT Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed Joy, U.S. Department of State Senior Official for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment Ambassador Marcia Bernicat, Minister of Commerce Tipu Munshi and Principal Secretary Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, Bangladesh Ambassador to the U.S. M. Shahidul Islam Islam and U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Miller.
