PEMBROKE TOWNSHIP â Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle fatal accident that occurred Tuesday in Pembroke Township.
Dianne L. Skinner, 56, of Remington, Ind., was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:55 p.m., Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner said. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Skinnerâs 2004 Mazda was eastbound on East Central Street when the accident occurred. A woman driving behind Skinnerâs vehicle said the Mazda was weaving back and forth on the road, Kankakee County Chief Deputy Sheriff Ken McCabe said.
Skinnerâs car left the roadway in the 14500 block of East Central Street and slowly traveled 50 feet before coming to rest in a ditch.
