Jealousy amidst the Plymouth Blitz, a pretty woman known as 'Blondie', a cruel murder straight out of the pages of a gritty crime novel - the killing of Beatrice Loveday Brown remains unsolved after her accused lover was acquitted in court.
On the evening of August 29, 1940 the body of 23-year-old Beatrice - known to many as 'Fair Jean' and 'Blondie' - was found in a basement flat of 2 Raleigh Street in the city centre.
