Bill McGlashan, once a top executive at a Bay Area private equity firm, broke the law to cheat his son's way into college because he was consumed by "parental insanity," his son argued in court this week. This argument did nothing to sway the judge, however, who sentenced McGlashan, 57, to three months in prison Wednesday.
