Two Wellesley firefighters get first COVID vaccines

Take your struggles, whatever they have been, over the past year and triple them, and you get at least a sense what life has been like for Wellesley firefighters Brian Hester and Joanie Cullinan.
The two were chosen by Chief Rick DeLorie to became the first two Wellesley first responders to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The Wellesley Health Department administered the vaccine Monday at Fire Department headquarters. The set-up includes a little waiting area, where those who receive the vaccine wait for 15 minutes to be sure there's no reaction.
Hester was hospitalized last March with COVID-19, and at times, it was touch and go. He spent much of that time in a medically induced coma.
