MARLEI MARTINEZ TELLS US MORE ABOUT THE RECENT OUTBREAK. REHABILITATION CENTER STARTED SEEING ITS RECENT COVID OUTBREAK LAST MONTH. ACCORDING TO THE SKILLED NURSING FACILITY, SINCE IT STARTED 158 RESIDENTS TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE CORONAVIRUS, HALF RECOVERING. 28 HAVE DIED. ACCORDING TO THE STATE HEALTH DIED. TURLOCK NURSING AND REHABILITATION CENTER HAS HAD MORE PATIENTS DIE OF COVID-19 THAN ANY OTHER SKILL NURSING FOURTH MOST IN THE STATE. THE FACILITY IS UNIQUE IN THAT IT TAKES IN COVID POSITIVE PATIENTS FROM HOSPITALS AFTER THE COUNTY AND STATE GAVE THE GREEN LIGHT. A FACILITY SPOKESPERSON SAYS TO PREVENT THE VIRUS FROM SPREADING OUTSIDE OF THE ISOLATED RECOVERY UNIT. BARRIERS AND A SEPARATE INTRNS, A.C. UNIT AN STAFF. THEY WOULD NOT POINT TO A SPECIFIC CAUSE FOR THE RENT RECENT OUTBREAK ONLY SAYING THIS THE VIRUS PRESENTS A GREATER RISK TO NURSING HOMES AND CASES. ACCORDING TO STANISLAUS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH, CASES AT SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES ARE INCREASING AS THE COMMUN AT LARGE IS LETTING ITS GUARD DOWN. >> ALMOST 60% OF OUR CASES HAS BEEN RELATED TO GATHERINGS. STARTING WITH HALLOWEEN, UP TO NOW. REPORTER: NEW DAILY CASES AT THURSDAYING HOMES STATEWIDE HIT AN ALL-TIME HIGH THIS SUNDAY. THIS AS THE NUMBER OF OUTBREAKS AND THE MORTALITY RATE HAVE DECREASED. COUNTY HEALTH SAYS THEY HAVE A DEDICATED TEAM WORKING WITH NURSING HOMES AN STARTING LAST MONTH, FACILITIES NOW HAVE TO TEST STAFF AND RESIDENTS ONCE A WEEK WHICH WASN'T HAPPENING + BEFORE BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF RESOURCES.
