The other hand there is this job almost a journalistic equivalent of a first responder. With the team and i go around and i dont respond to stories. I think that is what a lot of people think that i do, that im sitting here in new york in a suit and the phone rings and i get on the plane and go. We live in the region. I have lived in the middle east for 20 years. We are always there. We are always meeting people, discussing the stories, meeting the contacts. You understand the context of things. That was something that i thought a lot about when i lost my freedom, when i thought i was going to die. I thought i love my career. I love my job and im still doing it, but it is important to have some sort of balance. It is almost like people who get a terrible illness and are lucky enough to recover how they can have that spirit of life where food tastes better and the drink tastes a little cooler.
