A Funeral Service for senator billy odell took place at the First Presbyterian church in greenwood. He died in his sleep on thursday. He was 77 years old and served in the state senate since 1989. Odell represenated district 4, which included abbeville, anderson, and greenwood counties. He is survived by his wife and two children. Gabrielle deputies say the led to a murder charge for the babys mother. Anderson county deputies arrested 23yearold joanie holcombe. The babys body was found saturday morning, in a field near cherokee circle. Officials say the body could have been there since middecember. According to warrants, holcombe is accused of giving birth to a baby girl, and placing her in a plastic bag. Holcombes bond hearing has been delayed due to health reasons. Michael also in anderson county, the Sheriffs Office is investigating what deputies are calling a double homicide. Deputies say they found two dead bodies near pierce and amy road in the lake secession area, and that was early saturday. Deputies said the scene is not far from the Abbeville County line.
