One of the employees fired a gun and negotiators have spent hours trying to get him to surrender. Reporter they are contacting and talking to the suspect as we speak. Theres a s. W. A. T. Team, a Negotiator Team talking to the suspect. And they have set up this situation here staging area about four blocks away from the scene. But this is all happening on the grounds of brook vale supplies. We have officers in the area containing him and trying to negotiate with him to end this peacefully. Reporter lets backtrack and let you know what we know so far from police. Just after 8 00 this morning, a man arrived for his shift at the landscaping country, brookville supplies. His coworkers describe him as being agitated. He was very bothered about something. They dont know exactly what. Thats when he went to his car, grabbed a shotgun, and fired that shotgun into a pile of mulch. And then he pointed that gun at a coworker. The employees could 911 as you can imagine in a panic. They have since been evacuated and the suspect barricaded himself outside, behind what is being described as a large pile of mulch in the back lot of the landscaping company. So as i mentioned earlier, police are on the grounds. S. W. A. T. Team negotiators are trying to talk to this person and resolve the situation peacefully. Theyre on the phone with the suspect as we speak. An hour ago we heard shots fired. Police sources are telling us those are tactical gunshots. No one has been hurt and again, police are trying to end this situation peacefully. In the meantime an ongoing barricade situation in the 8900 block of brookville road.
