Park police confirming they are investigating a shooting where apparently a building on the nsa campus was struck. It is unclear and they are not directly linking that incident and the one that happened here at the icc. Both incidents under investigation at this hour. Both of them mysterious and clearly alarming. Let me get you to the icc incident which happened about 10 minutes till 3 00 this afternoon. This was a tree Cutting Company truck that was going eastbound on the icc. It was struck by gunfire while it was traveling down the road. It was apparent from the pictures we took at least two bullet holes through the windshield. The two men riding in the truck were both slightly injured and taken to the hospital incredibly lucky according to the Maryland Transportation Authority spokesman that i spoke with just a few hours ago. Yes the truck was in motion at the time. The glass striking one of the subjects in the vehicles glass got in their face and a bullet penetrated the clothing of another subject that was in the vehicle. The bullet did not penetrate skin. Both occupants were transport today the hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries. Thats just amazing a bullet went through the mans clothes and didnt hit him. That investigation is still ongoing. Prince georges county police have now taken over that investigation. And before the sun went down they were in the woods alongside of the icc trying to determine the source of the gunfire. This while later this afternoon the second shooting incident reported along a roadway at the parkaway along 32. A bullet apparently has struck a building on the nsa campus. The officials are not linking the two together but theyre certainly looking in to the possibility. Reporting live at Maryland Transportation Authority Police Headquarters on the icc in laurel, scott broom wusa 9. Pepper spray that a student kept in a desk accidentally discharged today. As a precaution students in the classroom were taken to childrens hospital. Tonight theyve all been released to their parents. Theyre waiting to take disciplinary action against the student with the pepper spray. An investigation is underway where a sheriffs deputy shot and killed a man in sols bury. According to maryland state police, they got in to a struggle with the man. The man had a gun and reached for it. The deputy opened fire. The deputy is 35yearold benjamin jones. He has been placed on administrative leave per protocol there. Maryland state police are leading the investigation. The county States Attorney Office will review the findings. Retiring today after pressure from supervisors angry over missteps in the geer situation. A Police Officers shot and killed him. Long time county attorney david bobsin and his staff were blamed for withholding information from the county supervisors. The county Council Unanimously passed a bill today Banning Pet Stores from selling pets that come from the large scale breeding operations. The incident happened a week ago while returning from a mission. Police say its a good thing the pilot was not wearing night vision goggles otherwise that bright light could have temporarily blinded him. Fairfax police stress a simple laser pointer or spotlight can actually light up an entire cockpit which pilots say could lead to far more serious consequences.
