The National Weather Service Issues these advisories partially based on how much snow well get and partially based on the timing of the system. For this one it is because of the time. Before dawn the snow will start to make its way into the belt way. Most of the snow will fall during the morning commute, so that timing could not be worse and the snow will reduce the visibility at times as youre driving to work tomorrow, but the good news is that it will be easy to clean up. Its light powdery snow. A snow shower is possible in the afternoon, but most of the snow will be over and done with by 1 p. M. Heres what well end up with. 1 to 2 inches just outside of the beltway. Bob mcdonnell and his wife whose name is also maureen were both found guilty of selling their prestige of the Governors Office in exchange for gifts and loans from businessman jonnie williams. Sister Maureen Mcdonnell wrote a letter to the judge blaming her brothers wife for what happened. While the federal Probation Department recommends Bob Mcdonnell serve at least 10 years, sister maureen says the public would be better served if her brother received Community Service instead. I think the alternative is really just capitalizing on bobs strengths and leveraging why would you have a man who has such great gifts and talents and a heart to help other people to utilize that . Reporter robin trujillo, a juror, said it would be wrong for mcconnell to serve no time. Some negative reaction over the latest revelations in a 16 monthold Police Involved shooting. For the first time Fairfax County police are releasing the name of the officer who pulled the trigger in the john geer shooting. Hank silverberg joins us live from the Fairfax County courthouse with some reaction from todays news. Reporter we are talking about john geer who was shot by police in 2013 during a standoff. In that Statement Released today some new information that he was apparently shot when he briefly lowered his arms during negotiations with police. We now know the name of the officer who shot him. It changes nothing. Were at the point we should have been 17 months ago. Reporter thats mike curtis from the Watchdog Group called justice for john geer. He says the one page statement from Fairfax County police chief roessler did not say much. It said they produced the gun and they never said anything about that before then, before now. Reporter the Police Officer who pulled the trigger is adam torres, an eight year veteran of the force who has been on administrative duty since the shooting. The statement said police found eight guns inside geers house including one on a nearby landing after geer was shot with one bullet as he stand with his hands up in the doorway. Fairfax county supervisor is hopeful three investigations will soon be concluded. The fact that it was bumped up to federal level has caused a very long delay and i feel strongly that its important that we release the information sooner rather than later. Reporter the attorney for geers family Mike Lieberman tells wusa9 the family is upset they had to learn about the information from the media and were not told in advance. He also says much more information should be coming out by the end of the month under the judges order. This case has sparked a lot of protests the last few months.
