As far as taking them on a bike ride with you you wouldnt do it like that. I would never do that. His legs are too short to pedal. I think it is dangerous. They might pop up or you might end up crashing into someone and they could get harmed then. It is not a good idea to bike with them. Best way to bike with your pet toys put a kid carrier on the back. You can do that. They would have a good time dogs love to ride in the car and they love to ride every where. As far as other things about being outdoor with your dog this time of the year we love to take walks outside. Had else do you got. When you are on a trail and you have a dog and cyclist going by, always hold your leash in because you never know when dog will dart out and it could get injured if the cycle hits them. We always have argument about retractable leash, he likes it, i do not. We are not a fan of retractable leashes because you do not have control. They can starting ago way from you.
