We can tell you you Abington Township Police sergeant has a shoulder injury and cannot hear out of one side of his head because this firearm went off so close to his ear. Investigators say it started with a call from Upper Dublin Police saying there was an armed three twoyear old man who walk a waste and determined to commit suicide by cop. Officers could not find him until around midnight when they saw him walking down the street. Were told Police Stopped him, talk with him and offered to drive him home. Police did a routine pat down when they felt his gun and pulled it and that is when the person pulled it out. Sergeant then dives at the man in the struggle to get the gun. Police deliberate liz firing five times, going after. Someone pulse out a gun everything happens so quickly and just such a scary situation obviously and the officer really took a risk, rather than stepping back and drawing his weapon by diving at him and fighting with him over the gun. Obviously he was taking a serious risk but he did it understanding if he wasnt able to get that gun from him they probably why going have to shoot and kill him. I admire his bravery for doing that and his dedication to trying to keep the citizens safe who was suicidal and who we received a report, that had talked about suicide by cop. This firehouse, in the whole city is grieving lost of two veteran Fire Fighters. Here are their photos, jerry fickes and 41 yearold Christopher Leach killed in the line of duty on saturday as they rush into a burning row home in the far from here, actually or lakeview road. It appears they believed children were trapped inside the home so they did their job. They headed inside to try to save those kid. That is when a floor collapsed burying men in ruble. Now this morning their bodies will be taken from the medical Examiners Office, to their respective Funeral Homes and we are expecting a procession of First Responders, and Fire Fighters from throughout the area, to line that route and escort bodies of these Fallen Heroes to honor them who made the ultimate sacrifice. And now fire officials hearsay they have been overwhelmed by the support that they are seeing from the community and this is outpouring of love, here is what they told us yesterday. We have had visitors from all walks of life, and some just stopping into say hello and some bringing food or other gifts, flowers. Now in this fire that happened on saturday in which these two veteran Fire Fighters died, four other Fire Fighters were also injured, two of them remain in the hospital and at last check they were both in Critical Condition at crozer burn unit.
