A bullet grazed his head in a gun battle that left a suspect dead. The officer is out of the hospital tonight and authorities tell us the shooter had a long rap sheet. The officer tonight is resting at home with his family while questions continue to come up about the suspect and why he was even on the street in the first place. Reporter ellis was sentenced four to 10 years in april 2009 for 2007 arrest on conspiracy drug and gun charges. He was turned down for parole twice and released in augus august 2013.
