Another preventible tragedy thats how the legal team of one victim describes the septa train crash that injured more than 40 riders early tuesday morning. That legal team they are filing a lawsuit on behalf of their client durell robinson. He suffered head injuries on the train that crashed into a parked train car on the norristown high speed line. 91 of the injuries are life threatening according to officials. Prosecutors had promised to trite case again. So this is what happened today. 23yearold dj creato plead guilty this morning to killing his little boy brandon almost two years ago. So he was slated for the retrial on first degree murder charges in just a master weeks. Camden county jury iain told you had deadlocked in may. He now faces ten years in pris prison. When a judge sentences him on september29th. So basically this is a plea de deal. He pleads, they dont go to trial. He gets ten years out in, what, eight and a half years, right . Possibly. So hell be required to serve at least those eight and a half years. Then he could be eligible for parole. 39yearold man is in jail facing several charges right now after a shooting involving a Philadelphia Police officer. This happened saturday night around 11 00 on alder street and authorities are telling fox 29 that a Police Sergeant on bike patrol saw Anthony Middleton with a gun in his hand. Middleton then took off down an alley and when Police Caught up with him they say he point add gun toward the sergeant the sergeant fired four shots hitting middleton. Police found a loaded gun in the alley that was previously reported stolen. A man taken to the hospital after being shot multiple times. Police say it happened just before midnight last night on 16th street nor wharton the man shot in the chest and stomach is now at Jefferson Hospital in critical condition. It says it is not safe to travel to some of the most popular spots in mexico, cancun, las cab bows, cozumel are in the middle of crime waves. The director animator says the movie comes from his own personal struggles. Fox 29 photojournalist bill rohrer reports he now hopes his movie will help epp spyer others dealing with the same demons. Art to me is the ability to communicate to someone. Reporter they say art often imitates live. For nick that art imitates a 24 frames per second. I think for this it was generic character design. I mean the person inside that is me. Reporter as kid, nick loved to draw. New early on in life he was going to be an animator. I just imitated and drew and drew and drew and this is where i got. Probably about an eighth of the animation drawings. Reporter eventually making his own short animated film. 6,000 sheets of paper each with its own story. The drawing really reflects the grittiness of the situation. Reporter deep reminder of his past. Draw from your personal experiences the best way, you know, you can make art. Um, you know, i feel like its true and honest. Reporter his film is called hanking a hand drawn look inside nicks mind during his darkest moment. After years of being bullied, nick decided to take his own life. This was without a doubt the hardest scene i had to animate. This idea of this menacing fog kind of drawing the character in. Reporter representing a mental tug of war between depression and his mothers love. Especially in that moment i was thinking about, um, my mom, and i had a memory, um, of my mom singing me to sleep as a kid. What really pushed me through was just the guilt of losing my mom. It wasnt so much about me. It was about her at that point. Reporter the thought of not every seeing his mother again pulled nick out of the darkness. His film ends with two words hang on. It was just something went perfect. You can hang on past those two hours or whatever that situation is, you can move forward and make your life better. Reporter he made this film during his junior year in college. It would be like your math homework kind of Getting International attention. Leak it usually does not happen and all of a sudden its being played in beijing and its saving someones life. [ applause ] reporter after nick completed his film and immediately caught on at various film festivals. Winning numerous awards. With his mother right by his side. I get great response, um, people are really moved a. Lot of people come up to me and say ive had past issues with suicide at thoughts and your film touched me. Reporter nick hopes the film will help others struggling with depression. It doesnt necessarily stop. Its not this perfect, um, you know, wonderful life but you know youll have your ups and your downs and as long as you expect them and you can handle them, you know, youll be get through.
