Talking on cell phone or teching is already illegal but at least one legislator believes thats not enough. The bill specifically prohibits a driver from engaging in an activity not related to the Motor Vehicle operation that would interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle. Reporter penalties would be up to 400 for first offense and license suspension for multiple offenses that may seem a little severe, but perhaps not when you consider the consequences of distracted driving. Driving distractions cause over 400,000 injuries each year and over 3,000 fatalities. These are injuries and fatalities are easily preventible.
