Everyone. You can see at bottom of the screen we have the schools closed so just check that constantly updating. How was your ride in. Not that bad, i had typical tractor trailer pass me at 60 miles an hour, White Knuckle person 5 miles an hour in the left lane. That was me. The best was the crowd of College Students who had just finished last call, did a 360 on the vine expressway, everybody is okay but they were having a grand old time. Quite a mess out there. Slippery, and it is kind of playing out just as predicted, it is rare we say when we have our number of the day that we have a one out of 10, but it is, a, yah, there it is, do you remember this time yesterday we had nothing going on, and, again, it is playing out just as planned. It is a coastal storm and throwing back a lot of moisture in the area. We have heavy snow falling, in some areas, it looks like Chester County and montgomery and bucks county and we are watching carefully that pink area which is the line between the rain and the snow and it is sleet and it looks like New Castle County delaware is getting that. Here in philadelphia it looks like snow instead toy heavy rain at jersey shore and southern delaware. So, you probably heard yesterday many counties were under a blizzard warning and that includes montgomery and bucks and chester, as well as mercer in new jersey and northern and western counties a blizzad warning, we will explain that in a little bit what that means. Winter storm warning for most of the rest of us, Winter Weather advisory continues in kent county delaware and high wind warning in Cape May County and sussex in delaware. That is all that is going on with watches and warnings. You can see with temperatures were well above freezing in wildwood at 42. Right at freezing in philadelphia where it is snowing and 32, and 20 degrees in mount pocono. Twentysix in reading and lancaster where we expect high snowfall totals. These are wild card as we get through, the prediction of the storm. We are watching the track of the storm, exact track and how far north the warm air reaches , which could have a big effect on the final snowfall total and how many sleet and rain mix in especially where we are in philadelphia, and along the i95 corridor. So do expect, significant snow , fall, wind is a big issue this storm and the war of it will be between eight and noon today. So heres your forecast, snowfall totals, and were going to six to 10 inches in philadelphia, less to the south, much more to the north of us, so we do have, Team Coverage, this morning, Scott Williams is outside, in the gently falling snow. It is not real windy, is it, scott, no, wind has not picked up just yet, sue but i can tell you that we are experiencing snow, mixing with that sleet. It is bouncing off my jacket i dont know if you can see it or not but we have mixing right now in the philadelphia area right here in olde city at fourth and market. As we look at our studios would i say we have anywhere from about one to 2 inches of snow that has already accumulated and you can see just across the street crews are already out kind of clearing the sidewalks. Market street doesnt look that bad. It is icy, and dicey and keep in mind we have the snow emergency in effect. So that means not to park in those snow emergency routes or your vehicle will be towed. As far as those critical temperatures we are hovering right now, sue right around 32. Really watching that transition line from the snow to the sleet, to the rain. All rain pretty much right now down the shore but mixing, right now with a little bit of sleet here at fourth and market. That will be critical as far as those snowfall totals as we go in time watching the temperatures and watching how much sleet will mix n i do anticipate sleet to eventually change back over to some snow, as those temperatures continue to cool later honest specially on the back end of that system visibility not that bad, currently here in philadelphia but points north and west where we have more in the way of snow and wind picking up things are pretty bad with you how are road right now . Bob kelly has details. Hey, scottie, good morning, come on back in grab a cup of coffee, 3 35. What a difference a half an hour can make here. Heres a live look at schuylkill expressway where i posted a picture half an hour ago totally snow covered. What we are seeing now is that first layer of salt starting to do its job on the major roadways. This truck has been off to the side here we have had light volume so far but depend upon where you begin and end your trip. Heres a live look at i95 in northeast philadelphia, speed down to maybe 40, 45 miles an hour, but it is all rain, dont shore. There is live look from the base of the cape may just off of route nine. We have a little bit of everything. Jackknife tractor trailer on 295 southbound near route 561 just south of the route 70 interchange. Route 322 closed in glassboro at route 55, an accident pulled down some wires, and they say it will be closed for most of the morning. If you must head out, heres your options, Regional Rail lines will be operating on a saturday schedule, expect delays, the cynwyd line that is been suspended for the day, acela, amtrak is running on a saturday, modified schedule same deal with patco, all of the bus routes on new Jersey Transit have been suspended, for today, and as scott mentioned snow emergency here in philadelphia so, no parking on the snow emergency routes, and ppa will give you some slack, they will not enforce meters or kiosks, they do have a fivedollar flat rate fee at some select parking garages here in center city if you you have to come into downtown. Many flights cancelled at philly international. Nice and quiet. Just check with the airline for today and even tomorrow, the best way to get around, will be two big work horses on the septa system the market frankford and broad street subway. For the most part, they all run underground, the subway does, half of the market frankford line is underground they are running trains every 20 minutes, trains have been running, every 20 minutes, all night long, going a Lionel Richie there that is best bet. If you can get yourself to the market frankford and subway you will be good to go. Otherwise 45 miles an hour across the board on all major roadways and be prepared, for the salt and the plow crews, out there, all day long. Karen and thomas, back to you. Lets look around our area, right now, lets head up to Allentown Lehigh valley expected to get our highest snow totals taking a look there and road are certainly snow covered at this hour. So we will see what happens as the morning goes on. That is parkway. Snow already coming down. Lets check with steve keeley kicking awful our Team Coverage live in bethlehem, good morning to you, steve. Reporter they sent us where it is war, deepest and were expecting 28 inches of snow. That is 2 feet and 4 inches. We are doing math again today, right. Just starting to get bad but they are telling us up here the wind is going to get worse at 7 00 a. M. It is already kicking up. Our man michael greenwich who jen fredrick gets to drive nuts i get to drive nuts today see how snow is coming down sideways. We are at number one wawa competitor sheetz and we have sheetz and wawa across the street. Our plan was to be at city view diner to look at the sky line they shut down at 9 00 and they usually stay opened through everything. 20 inches of snow for ski country is rough. They talk about the storm of the century up here on these exact dates, the 13th and 14th of march, 1993, they only got 18 inches. If we get 10 more inches then storm of the century this one will be the storm of the centuries. That would shatter, any record for any snow ever in march, and it would be almost a record bookmaker for any storm in any month of winter, with 28 inches of snow, even up here. At lee we are getting all snow where the jersey shore we would be drenched already. So this place opened, and you can see a lot of private plow trucks have a place to go for coffee and fuel because these guys will be like daytona 500 drivers today meaning that they will need lots of refill , and they will be doing lots of laps on the same road surface, over and over because where mike is working now his feet completely snow covered but a plow guy made a run through here and we saw road surface, we saw painted Parking Lines but nothing now. It is not falling as much as 4 y are warning us it might but certainly coming down at leann inch an hour already and this isnt even the war of anything we will get yet. That is why we are dressing light now, we will add layers throughout the morning and adding, minutes to our forecast, and our reports from up here but bob kelly, you still got me beat in timewise , you have a lot more to say then do i just yet and people up here very wise about how to drivein this stuff. They are veterans of this. Im just laughing bob saying speed limit reduced to 45. Why would anybody be driving in the blizzard at 45 miles an hour. Why are you even driving if you are not, a dumb news person and being out covering this stuff at 3 30 in the morning when we are usually running infomercials. There are a few of us required to get to work this morning. I like steves wardrobe changes we will expect much more, throughout the course of the morning, thanks steve. We will go from Delaware County following snow conditions for you this morning. Lets check with Lauren Johnson live right now in folsom with what it is looking like in Delaware County. Good morning, lauren. Reporter hello, good morning to you guys. I will describe the scene here similar to what scott says like a mix of sleet, snow out here, and i havent seen too many cars on the road but what we have seen a lot of are those plow trucks making sure road are clear. Now on our way here from center city, we can tell you this it was an adventure to say the lee. It was snowing. We didnt hear the sleet coming down. Then we hit right there near eagles stadium and there was a snag for about 10 minutes. What we noticed was a car turned around in the complete opposite direction. A tow truck hitched the car but then tow truck watts having a tough time turning around because road are so slick in that area we had to wait and watched it all play out. Tow truck ended up driving the wrong way down i95 to get that car out of the way. Many people were on the road. Would i say 10 to 15 cars were there at that time, and everyone driving safely, slow ly, making their way to where ever they were going and steve just mentioned who necessary where people are going at this hour and in these conditions but yeah here in follow come we are at wawa. We have not seen too many people. We have a couple waves when we first got here but i have been watching the snowplow trucks coming through here making sure they are keeping the road safely. So, we will keep checking in with you guys and let you know how condition seemed to change throughout the morning here in Delaware County. Sound great, thanks. We will appreciate that. Of course, we will continue to track this storm because it will be here for quite sometime so we will be here with you for the duration that is right depending where you are you will see different snowfall totals. Sues crunching the numbers. She will tell us how long that storm is expected to last with her forecast straight ahead, stay with us. Welcome back thanks for joining us very early on this pie day 314, the ides of march the day before whatever is happening in your neck of the wood at your window, backyard, your lawn furniture, use that fox 29 snow and see how much snow off couple resulted in your neck of the wood. Barbecue grill will be covered in snow. Sue, we will see plenty of those pictures. Wouldnt it be funny if we got 3. 14 inches of snow. Make it happen. Someplaces might but a lot of places will double and triple that here is the whole big mess of the storm and it is a coastal storm, it is throwing back moisture from the ocean and variety pack of precipitation for sure. We have heavy rain to the south of us and snow to the north of us, and in between is that tricky area where we have the sleet and rain mix nothing all together. As you just heard from our reporters it mix travel very difficult. Heres the pink, wilmington delaware, concord, area in Delaware County and marple, it is a mixture of sleet and snow in and other parts of the delco where lauren is. Norristown looks like all snow we will go down to south jersey and see a lot of rain, cape may, atlantic city, lewis , delaware and ocean pines and maryland as well. Here is your future cast, again, we watch this pink line to see division between the snow and rain. It will be a battle between cold air and warmer eras we go through rest of the morning. Height of the storm, probably after 8 00 oclock and that is also when we will see that pink line moving further northward but it continues to snow and pile up around allentown, Lehigh Valley where steve is, heavy rain along jersey shore and then mess in between. What this means is it wreaks havoc with our snowfall totals for philadelphia we will have a high totals to the north and then, of course, wind is a big issue for shore but look at noon we are seeing beginning of the end to the south of us, we may even see some sunshine and still kind of slick around philadelphia area, then we will get wrap around moisture which is all snow to finish it off between say one and 2 00 but very spotty, snow showers, through about 4 00 in the afternoon. So bulk of the storm will end at around noon, but we will still have some left overs after. That we have a watches and warnings, continuing, including this blizzard warning to the north of us, northern suburbs . What does that mean . It means wind or gusts of 35 miles an hour or more, visibility reduced to a quarter mile or less, and for all that happening at a duration of three hours or more. With this expected to last throughout the rest of the morning and early afternoon that is what constitutes a blizzard. Coastal concerns, high tide this morning between 9 30 and 10 30, moderate flooding is expect with heavy rain we just showed you on radar, wind gusts could be as high as 65 miles an hour beach erosion unfortunately. We have altered our total for infamous i95 corridor for six to 10 inches because of the trickiness of this forecast with the sleet mixing in with this snow, 10 to 16 in places like doyletown and maybe princeton, new jersey and four to six to the south of us. Visibility isnt great at philly international down to 4 t is snowing very heavily to the north of us, again, as we have been telling you dont travel if you dont have to. We will be in the mid 30s today and colder thomas we head into st. Patricks day, 41 degrees and little better as we head into saturday chilling out on sunday. Lets check with Scott Williams , because that variety pack of precipitation we were talking about is affecting you right now. Reporter absolutely, it is a weather buffet cross the area. Mentioning down the shore, dealing with the rain, right here in center city at fourth and market it is more of a snow and sleet mixture. You can see that sleet bouncing around, sleet has us beat. And as you mentioned sue that sleet could impact totals how much mixing how long it last before it changes back over to snow. I want to show you what is happening here. There is an inch or two of snow here in center city and crews have been clearing the sidewalk. Right now Market Street is kind of icy and dicey but i have seen some septa buses kind of going through. Not a whole lot of people walking here in center city as we are dealing with the winter storm warnings. As we look at that light you can see some of the snow and sleet that is coming down across parts of area. I want to walk over here to this trash can and show you the accumulation that we have on top of the trash can and you can see we are looking at about one to 2 inches of snow that has fallen here in center city but Road Conditions are deteriorating pretty rapidly. Bob kelly, i know you have been keeping tabs off cameras and Road Conditions, what are you seeing right now . I got my jam cams all fired up and ready to go. We just had one of probably 100 spin outs occur here on the schuylkill expressway. This is a live look at the schuylkill right here near the boulevard. Again, as we mentioned they have posted speed restrictions of 45, but with light volume, look at this fellow here doing exactly what he should be just taking his time and try to signal this guy passing on the right here, you can barely make out the lane markers so it is a free for all when you get four or five lanes opened up here. Heres a live look at down in delaware route 13 at 89 have more so rain mixing with the sleet and the rain and snow and live look at bennie we have wind coming at you, old glory getting a work out this morning. They have been up all night long putting down salt, bridge s are wet, passable but speed restrictions of 25 miles an hour. Again, 45 on all majors. Salt, plow crews out there send us your snow picks. When kid get up, come on you have snow pajamas on . Send them, put them up on facebook, instagram and use the fox 29 snow, so we can show them on tv all morning long. Now we have got slow go here on 295 and new jersey turnpike , jackknife tractor trailer south on 295 down at route 561. If if if you really must head out to work, obviously our medical professionals need to get there, our broadcast professionals, that is us we need to get here use market frankford and broad street subway line. They are running trains every they are two big work horses on the septa system. Karen and thomas, back to you. Bob, thanks, getting us around this morning. Heavier snow on the way. We are feeling sleet here in philadelphia but changes are coming. Great to have you with us, once again, if you are just joining us, live lot parkway, that scene will change even more as we trek through the day, sue serio is tracking the latest conditions on this noreaster, stay with us. Welcome back, all of you waking up so early with us this morning. I got a text from paul who says that it was sleeting, so we appreciate you. Send us pictures where you are , heather just sent in a picture, thanks very much, that is a look, still, phil from from Prospect Park in trenton, new jersey. Send in those pictures fox 29 snow. Our jen fred, shes out there in Mercer County, new jersey actual any Lawrence Villa long route one, good morning to you it is coming down, good morning. Reporter good morning. Good morning. We are north of trenton i can tell thaw we are feeling a little bit of the sleet as he described it. It is mostly snowing however and as you can see road are relatively clear if you are dealing with the winter storm. We have seen plenty of snowplows, coming up and down, route one here, again north of trenton in lawrenceville, Mercer County and i can tell thaw even the cars that dont appear to be suv or fourwheel drive they have been able to get by. So far in this area the news is relatively good. We will be right back. Just waking up, good morning to you. Happening right now we are tracking the storm. You see it all lit up, nasty noreaster bearing down on the tristate area. We will lot the map and see different colors that means we are getting different
