I think people are trying to spread hatred, the message is chilling, and the damage is severe. That message, quote, kill, killer cops, spray painted on the public art. Along with rip david, possible reference to the death of david jones shot in the back by a Philadelphia Police officer back in june during a altercation authorities are still investigating. The latest vandalism comes day after fox 29 cameras caught this man spray painting the mayor rizzo statue near city hall. The second time it was vandalized in a week. Emotions are high over the controversial figure who some city dwellers revive, others despise over allegations of racism. You probably was a biggoted person, but there is probably a lot of murals that have biggoted people. I dont think hes like a confederate war solder. People here calling for open dialogue, rather acts of destruction. I understand tensions are running real high. I just dont think vandalism is the way to go about this. As Police Officers held the scene saturday, jane golden with the citys mural arts program, assessing the damage. I hear it from both sides. And for me, that necessitates next moves that are very thoughtful and careful and respectful of all of the point every view. And follow the trail here, just yards from where the mural stands is a shattered jar of paint, lying on the sidewalk, authority did arrest one person at the scene. Second Police Officer has died from a string every deadly shootings targeting police. Six officers were shot in separate incidents in florida and here in pennsylvania overnight. Officers Matthew Baxter and Sergeant Sam Howard were in a neighborhood known for crime and drugs, saw three suspicious men on a corner, they approached them. Police say within seconds, one of those three men shot the two cops at point blank range. The chief says they never even had a chance to draw their weapons. All three men are now in custody. The last that was caught, everett miller, former marine, recently hospitalized for pschiatric reasons, captured dramatically inside a bar. They went handson, tackled him to the grounds, and secured him, located a 9millimeter handgun and 22 revolver on his person. This is one serious river journey. 300 miles by kayak, in a little more than two weeks, we caught up with the mother and daughter duo, who are on a mission to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer research. She could just move on with her life, as Breast Cancer survivor, but instead, 59 year old carolyn want to do much more. After they gave me three years to live, this is my 14th t is a message of hope. And my daughter here doing it with me is a reminder that the next generation we need to continue research. Carolyn and her daughter, 29 year old sydney, who live in new hampshire, are halfway through a 300mile kayak trip along the delaware river. Stopping in new york, new jersey, and pennsylvania, along the way. Carolyn credit the work of the late doctor angela brody, from the university of Marylands School of medicine, who pioneered a treatment that saved the lives of countless women with Breast Cancer. One is in tribute doctor brody who created the life saving drug, the aroma taste inhibitor for people like me diagnosed when estrogen positive Breast Cancer . Carolyn is eager to talk about her successful treatment and eager to encourage other women with Breast Cancer to stay strong, leading by he can ample, she want to show her strength, in paddling 300 miles, hoping to raise awareness, and continued funding for Breast Cancer research. If you have been through chemotherapy, and multiple surgeries, i say im flat but fabulous, you know, this is nothing compared to that battle of Breast Cancer. Carolyn says she couldnt have manage in the journey without her daughter, and her husband, gordon, who is following them on land, and with logistics, helping launch them each day, and pack up the military grade inflatable kayak each night. Weve been fighting rapids, rocks, winds, today a lot of boating, but like she said, in comparison to the fight of Breast Cancer it is really nothing. Because thinking that somebody would go out and make fake glasses to hurt people, and just to make money, because that kind of ruined a lot of kids eyes, and if they can get more glasses in time maybe they can still do it. Well, hopefully they will. The School Administrators desperately trying to get ahold of some glasses, as soon as possible. The student would really like to see that eclipse safely on monday. This time around the path is quite similar crossing from the pacific to the atlantic, but his our area were not in what theyre calling the path of totality. But will still see something. That path is a relatively narrow band, about 70 miles wide. In the west, many prime spots are road trip away from larger cities like portland, boise, salt lake city. The best weather is in oregon and idaho. If you can be there, and it will happen in the morning every august 21, the prediction from historical weather reports is pretty clear skies. You have got your best chance there. But grand National Park in wyoming, that will be spectacular. Large chunk every nebraska will see totality including lincoln folds by kansas city, st. Louis and the largest city in the path, nashville. The southern part of the great smokey mountains will experience totality. As will part of northeast georgia, Western North carolina, and upstate south carolina. All expected to draw big crowds because of the proximity to atlanta and charlotte. I think it is absolutely going to be worth it. Yes, it is a few minute of darkness, but this is the only time when you can see the outer most layer of the sun in a natural way. It is the only kind of the biggest celestial event to see from the earth. Not deterring eclipse chasers from across the globe. Weve had calls from people in europe, south america, and so people will come from all over the worlds to see this and chase this eclipse. Entheusiasts are going wild, booking hotels, and making arrangements. Start marking it on your calendar, because there will be tremendous interest in this. You know the little ones will think it is so cool. The kids in the School District out near harrisburg wont actually be watching the eclipse. The Cumberland Valley School District is cancelling recess on monday. They dont want students injuring themselves by looking up at the sun.
