The town council band gas powered leaf blowers the summertime. They give it a try with a oneyear ban last year. They like the peace and quiet so much that they put full effect permanent ban. It is may 15 september 30. No gas leaf blowers. We had meetings with the town council about it. They were trying to compromise but there is never any compromise. The blowers create a Health Hazard and annoyance to area residents. The mayor says increased use of a gas blowers in the summer got way out of hand. About 14 years ago we passed an ordinance requiring landscapers to use a 65decibel leaf blower. We tried to enforce it and it became unenforceable. They did not honor the agreement we had. But landscapers are fighting back. The new jersey Landscape Association says theyre going to challenge this in court. It only applies to them. The residence can use this all they want under the law. Its going to be tough and hurt the taxpayers, the people who are paying us to do a good job on the properties because will not be able to use it. They say typical job in the summer of mowing the lawn and blowing away the clippings is usually less than 15 minutes. They dont think it causes a lot of problems. Those recently purchased in the last two years are lower decibel leaf blowers. The electric leaf blowers do not last as long. The batteries wont last as long and theres not enough power. It will be an interesting court case. The electric leaf blowers and some of the batteryoperated once registered at a higher decibel level than the gas once. Apparently they didnt do research. More partly, i want to call out the mayor and the council a bunch of cowards. If they were serious about noise and issues, they would have banned all of the lawn products. I want to see when the electric leaf blower isnt long enough to get to the end of the driveway or backyard and the landscaper has to role in the gas powered generator to plugin electric leaf blower. People of their wants and what a perfect. They should just enjoy nature, the spring, the leaves, and frolic all around the leaves. Has take first world problems.
