The search continues this morning for the person who hit and killed a woman and severely injured a polk county deputy and took off. It happened after midnight on saturday morning. The deadly chain started when a car veers off the road hitting the young woman and deputy. The woman was killed and the deputy is in serious condition in the hospital. Polk county Sheriff Grady Judd calls it a tragedy and says the person will be caught. Theres a 3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. He posted a message on facebook a couple hours about the depth too and his photo. Wife and whole life ahead of him. While keeping the citizens of the polk county safe, he stopped to assist a young lady in need. She, too, had her whole life ahead of her. For the personal responsible, we would find you. It will be in your best interest to turn yourself in sooner rather than later. Either way, you will be brought to justice. Kellie cowan has more on the krafk kellie ses ka thought she was safe when she saw the flash it is lights. She ran off state road 60 near lake wales and wrecked her car in this ditch. It smashed the windshield and landed on the passenger side. She crawled out through the smashed windshield and came out into the median to flag somebody down for help. Reporter polk county sheriffs deputy adam pinell called for help. The last transmission was at 12 38. Ems got there seven minutes later but didnt anticipate the horrifying scene they found. They thought they were arriving to assist the woman injured in the crash. Instead, when they got her they found her and the deputy in the grass severely injured. It was quite obvious from the very beginning they were struck by a vehicle. Reporter detectives say a vehicle swerved around the deputy vehicle and sped through i think her injuries were so significant it wasnt possible for her to be revived. Kellie she died and deputy pinell survived with multiple bron bones. His injuries are serious and he needs several surgeries. Deputies are hopeful hell recover and are hopeful they find the person that hit him and killed the woman he was trying to help. The fact they fled after innocent woman, i dont know they would turn themselves in. We would plea for that person or anyone that knows that person to turn themselves in. He was arrested nearby and charged with vehicular homicide. He was released and out on bond until a couple of days ago. He was arrested again on friday night. Deputies tried to stop his car and had to use stop sticks when he tried to get away. When they caught him, they found johnson driving without a license and drug possession. He and two High School Friends were killed when their boat slammed into a jetty on miami beach. Firefighters were called to the Spring Hill Assisted Living Center on cessna drive. They found smoke coming from outside of the building. When they actually got there, investigators say the 73yearold woman was a patient at the facility and believed she had been smoking with her oxygen tank nearby and caused a fire. Right now its still investigated. A happy ending for a Temple Terrace family after their pit bull was stolen in a bare almost a week ago. Saturday morning about two miles away from the house, jose thats when he saw zeus comes from the backyard limping. He drank this full of water twice. He was very thirsty. He was also injured. They were rescued after their boat started taking on water about 13 miles west of anna maria island. The coast guardea about an hour after about that. The two men were not hurt. A man who stopped to help two women in distress near atlanta suddenly become victims themselves. Police say they convinced him to follow him behind a set of town halls when three teens ambushed him, asked him to empty his police say the woman and the teens fled. Things werent right. The routing number was too high and there was no date or address. It raised the alarms for her. This is fraudulent. Somebody give us a fake check for more money than we asked for. Alcides why. This is the old scam called an overpayment scam. People who use this, they dont just target a charity or you or me or somebody buying or selling a used item online. They send you a fake check, and call you and say, oops, alcides, i accidental gave you 500 only to give you 200. Could you out of the goodness of your own heart pay me the difference . You have money from a fake check that you cant deposit, so youre paying out of your own pocket to this scammers. Alcides did they ever pay . They did not fall for this, but they want other charities to know this is happening, to aware. The name edward gonzalez, we dont know for sure what his intentions are. We tried to call him and talk to him. He hung up as soon as wedding but this would be the donor the bank believes with the weirdness of the amount that it is a scam. There are things to look for as far as the routing number and in this case the bank didnt have an address on it. I mean, when you listen to these two women and hear how upset they are, lets hear what they have to say about this potential alleged scammer. For someone t say that they lost a wife to makes me ill.
