New this morning, we are learning the name of the South Carolina Police Officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty. Officer alan jacobs was a 4 1 2 year veteran of the Greenville Police department, before that jacobs was shot serving a warrant to a suspected gang member, the man ran from police and then opened fire, hitting jacobs several time. The office died that hospital, the suspect turned the gun on himself. A new england prep scroll grad is in jail this morning after he violated his bail agreement. He was convicted of sexually assaulted a younger student. And free on bail appealing his one year jail sentence, but a curfew was part of the requirement. And the process cuteser saying he violated curfew eight times. In court yesterday, he apologized, but the judge ordered him to begin serving the one year sentence. The u. N. For one local College Student, he was one of the lucky 25 to find a match within his own family, but he knows others are not as fortunate, kelly and carson are closer than most siblings their age. They are both at chapel hill, but their bond is one that was formed years ago, they family was dealt a devastating blow. I was diagnosed with leukemia at 3 1 2. I wept through a year and a half of chemotherapy and was in remission. Caitlin however that lasted six months and the cancer returned. This time resistant to treatment. So this time the doctor said the best chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant. Caitlin and doctorsrsound a match in his sister, but the prospect of donating was scary for the 5yearold. I remember coming home from the hospital and my dads, you i didnt know what bone marrow was. Caitlin but even at a young age, he realized it was her brothers only home and went through with the transplant that was successful, giving carson a new lease on life. January 21st of this year, was 13 years post transplant and honestly, had this been, the life of a normal person. Caitlin now the pair is active in couraging fellow College Student to join the bone marrow registry. It is the least he can do after being blessed with a second chance. And something his sister teases. Not forever, but if he is being hard to get along with, i will remind him. Caitlin such a neat pair. They are so active and they are fantastic. A 24yearold man fromanch dale is dead after a hilt and run that happened last night on Putnam Church road off of highway 22. According to the aberdeen times, the victim was visiting a house there and disappeared. People inside of the home went looking for him and found him lying on the side of the road with no sign of the vehicle that hit him. This accident is under investigation. If you have information, contact and this accident happened outside of pinehurst, on lyndon road, one of the drivers, 49yearold frank, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, 63yearold clark was taken to the hospital, injuries that are said to be nonlifethreatening. The cause of the accident does remain under investigation. The family of wake county man is asking for your help to try to bring him back home safe and sound. Donald lye is 49yearold and not been seen in eight days. His sister said that he borrowed her jeep because his truck was broken down. He was seen driving a 2015 orange jeepwrangler. It has North Carolina plates. His sister is saying the transponder on the screen as pinged possibly heading towards charlotte. We need him back. My family, we have five children, my parents are gone and we are tight. Back.
