Nde can someone please help . The debacle comes as no surprise to some frequent flyers who say even travel insurance would notu have helped in this situation. They would have said no ha anyway if they had the travell insurance. There would have been some reason why they couldnt refund them. Theres some reason it makes the insurance useless. Sele if you show them proof of whyf youre missing your or why you o need your money back and youyo process it it takes forever. They want to verify that you, in fact, missed your flight for afr valid reason. Va it has a bunch of reasons listes as to why. It always has stipulations. American airlines did issue a waiver for travelers who booked a ticket to the area, but as we discovered its filled with stipulations and focused on reissuing tickets, not refunding tickets. Its filled with a lot of codes and a lot of mumbo jumbo. I did have a conversation with an American Airlinescan spokesperson who says typically the airline would not issue a refund, but they do go byo special circumstances. So then when i asked what type of special circumstances thehe spokesperson said its really on a casebycase basis. The bottom line is that its probably well worth your timeime and money to book a refundable flight so that youre not inno this situation. Itua so that if something does happed to the area youre visiting you will at least get your pun back. Teisha lewis, fox5 local news. Im assuming probably travela insurance as well. You have everything covered here. Absolutely. Are you ready to get starred. Lets go. Now, for budgeting, should safe an average of 400 for back to School Supplies, true or false. I think thats a little high. High to me in. H im going to say false. You think thats high . Actually parents spend in 2016, 674dollars. 16, just supplies. Just supplies. Ppli supplies and that includes clothes. Okay. I wasnt counting those things in. When we say back to School Supplies we include everythinget like backpack and clothes and computers. Its act i up from 632 in 2015 and this year theres a spending of 75. 8 million on School Supplies. Im in the wrong business. Im going to start sellingart School Supplies. Go ahead. Ahea well go on to the next one. Its better to have one calendar of events for the entire family versus one for each child. I say thats true. E. It works we put everything on one calendar so everybody can seen e it. Thats what we do, too. I shouldnt have explainedve all that. I have no idea, i dont have kids. I only have one child, but we put all of our stuff on thee child. Ill say true. Ill say true. True. It is. One of the worst things isth having no calendar at all or having separate calendars. Another big mistake is usinging your email as your to do list. People jump into their email and see what they have to doo instead of transfer it over. The best thing to do is get one huge calendar for everybody or have an app on your phone likee google calendars. That is one of the best thingst to do. It makes you very organized. I have a calendar just for me. When you have kids youll puu them into that calendar. Retailers offer hugeet discounts in gift cards toai customers that fill out online surveys. This can be a great way to safeo it can also be a great way for them to keep on me. Im going to say yes. Ill say true. It seems like an incentive. It probably is true, but i just dont like it. The best time for kids to do homework is right after school. O im going to say false to that. I feel they need some decompression time after theyte get home. Wed say not right away. Let you have a little snack, ge, yourself together and then the homework. Im going to say true. Im going to say youre allyo right because it does depend what you want to do in your household. Its very mom specific and child specific or dad specific if its the dad that is doing the homework because some moms want their kids to come home and burn off that energy, to play, whatever. Other moms want them to use that energy for the homework. Get it over with. H. I think it also depends on thepd child, too. Chil it totally does. And then there is another subset of moms who want to wait untilit after dinner when the child is relaxed and afterred and use it as Family Learning time. E. Our child is busy washing the dishes and cleaning up afterer dinner. This is the last one. P p your child is anxious or stressed out about going back to school you should sit them downm and reason with them right at that moment. Ent. Id say that is true. Talk to them to reassure them. H. Im going to say false justst because maybe they need a littl bit more time and you have to take it day by day as you leadle into it. So acutely. But thats just a guess. You are right. The non parent is correct. It is never a good thing to attack the childs anxiety righ at that moment. It is better to bring up the topic when they are much more relaxed and they are open to talking about something thatat makes them happy about recess and getting around to the topics when they are expressed out and relaxed. Especially when theyre not getting dressed in the morningoi getting ready to go to school. O. Good stuff. Ood its wonderful to have you here. Thank you so much. Another successful edition of what the facts. Ts well be right back. Flyers making less fuss about flying . Consumer complaints about airlines, nose diving more than 12 percent in the first th half of this year compared tor the same time a year ago. Customers reporting fewer delays with their package. Passengers might be complaininga about long lines come labor day. Us airlines expect 5. 6 americana to fly following that weekend. T that is a 4 percent jump frommp last year.
