Firefighters had to rescue a driver this morning after this serious crash on i40 in iredell county. It shut down the eastbound lanes for an hour near the Sharon School road exit. Troopers say a driver of a work van slammed into a truck that had slowed for another accident on the interstate. The driver of the truck says the impact knocked his vehicle nearly 200 feet. It about knocked me out. I hurt my shoulder. I hurt my leg a little bit. But ill be all right. The other guy. They had to cut him out. Firefighters cut off the door to get the driver of the work van. The Highway Patrol says the injuries are serious but hes expected to be okay. Amanda collins is angry over the sleighing of her dog lilly. It takes a sick twisted person to just shoot an innocent dog in cold blood. She put the word out online about her missing dog, the next morning someone found her along barbara road in gold hill, almost nine miles from home. Collins said it appears she was shot in the back.
